Hi Nairalanders,

I just want to show us how I made my ekuru yesterday… I’ve been disturbing my gf to prepare it for me but she doesn’t shows interest in it, my mum actually taught me this… so this is how it goes.

Things i used :
Beans
Series of peppers (rodo, bawa and onions)� � �
Crayfish
Ponmo
Vegetable oil
Seasoning(Maggi, Thyme) �

The beans was cleaned and I used blender to blend it, then set it aside I blend my pepper too and put that in a separate pot.

So I only add salt to my blended beans, stirred it together and divide it into two portions using white small leather they call it nylon omi in yoruba. And I put the two inside my pot for boiling. As that is going on, I started the preparation of the pepper too… which I add other seasoning too

I boiled the blended Beans for about 30-35mins after which the ata dindin too is ready… I served myself and I enjoy the meal. Don’t mind me am not good with content writing.

My slippers can bear me the witness that I enjoyed it as I see my slippers watching me as I dey eat.

By the way, why didn't you fry the sauce with palm oil?

I applaud you for making ekuru from scratch.
You did well, but next time use the authentic traditional ingredients. It makes all the difference.

You don see where them dey use ororo make ewa agoyin pepper? cheesy

Wow.. I love this delicacy. Ate it a lot during my school days but I hardly eat it these days because I always feel somehow calling those hawking it to buy on the street.

If they had a spot for it like the kenkay sellers, I wouldn't mind patronizing them.
The pomo is another thing for me. The way it absorbs the pepper. Mmm..

I'll try making it myself, some day. Never knew it was this easy to make.

Ekuru is beans-based food ORIGINALLY of the Yoruba from Southwest Nigeria.

The making follows the same processes as moin moin making but differs in that you make a different sauce to eat it.
