Again the Nigerian Navy has revealed the reason naval personnel and online comedian, Abdulgafar Ahmad Oliuwatoyin, better known as Cute Abiola must be punished.

Commodore Suleiman Dahun, spokesperson for the Nigerian Navy, in an interview with Punch said the Instagram comedian deliberately flouted the armed forces social media policy.

“There is an armed forces social media policy that was promulgated by the defense headquarters, and its principal regulation is that military personnel should not post photos or videos of themselves in uniform while engaging in personal or official activities, Dahun said.

“Military personnel are also not allowed to make comments or share official military decisions, activities or operations on social media. They are also not allowed to forward materials on social media. Copies of the policy are available with the Director of Defense Information. It is not a restricted document, so it can be made available to anyone who needs it.” sleekgist

He said after violating the rule, naval authorities invited Abiola, who was on leave at the time to come and explain himself, but he ignored their calls.

“When we got the clip wherein he violated the policy, we asked him to come back to explain himself but he did not return. His commanding officer called him to explain himself concerning the video clip but he ignored his commander and didn’t return until his leave was over.

“When he returned, he was put in.....https://sleekgist.com/why-we-have-vowed-to-punish-cute-abiola-navy-speaks-again/

grin cheesy

He shouldn't wear military gear while on a personal mission or post photos/vidoes on social media of his military gear while on an official duty.

Okay. Every work place has a policy.

Can you imagine the Nigerian Navy do not read/ understand the constitution about the use of camouflage by civilians. According to the constitution, it is illegal to wear the camouflage if you are not a military personnel but there are 2 exceptions that one can wear the camouflage and it's considered legal.

1. If permitted by the president or governor of a state.

2. It can be worn when a civilian is conducting a staged play or for a bona fide public entertainment purpose. It is written in black and white and not implied in the constitution.

A good lawyer should take up the challenge of filing legal proceedings against the Nigerian Navy for human rights violation.
Unbelievable.
