Again slum occupy just 2 percent of Nairobi landmass and 5 percent of build up area - hidden mostly in valleys. My uganda colleague was telling me Nairobi is very deceptive - modern city - you rarely see those slums - unless you purposively visit them. Maybe kibera is largely visible from Langata - the rest are hidden in river valleys.

And the slums are illegal - some the last two years have been demolished. Gov still compensate the slum dwellers and destroy. Right now huge part of Mukuru kwa Njenga slum is being demolished. All will eventually be demolished
