This is simply untrue. There have been movies that have improved on their source material. I had the privilege of seeing four of them.

* The Mist; a better conclusion

* Forest Gump; far superior to the book

* There Will Be Blood; I enjoyed the book (It's called 'Oil'), but it pales in comparison to the film.

There are more, but these four will suffice for the time being.

I'm nearing the end of the Dune series. When I started, it appeared to be a daunting task, and even though I became bored, I persisted. I'm glad I did because it's been a roller coaster ride since book 3.

I've not read the book but I never found it boring, rather I find it promising. I think people expected a lot more without being realistic enough to know that the book is big and everything can't be lumped together in one movie.

*Road to Dune (2005) comes last; it's a companion book to the Dune series that fills in some gaps. It's almost like a miniseries in its own right.

We need to legalise weed in Nigeria. It will be a good export to European or American countries that have legalised it.

I don't go with those ratings. Most movies with poor ratings from film critics are often times gud and they end up very successful at the box office and vice versa.

Suicide Squad was critically panned but financially successful

Black Mountain Side (2014)

It's difficult to describe the plot without sounding simplistic, but there's a lot more. The production value is excellent, the camerawork and acting are both top-notch,. It's a beautiful mash-up of The Thing, Donnie Darko, hints of The Shining, and perhaps a dash of Dreamcatcher.

It was dark and bleak, and you could feel what was happening to each character. I liked how it was a little hazy at times, but you figure things out as you go. In general, I give it a thumbs up. It's a well-acted and written film.
