Very nice. Good to see the flares, it shows production is actually taking place. Where exactly is this location? Anambra East, Anambra West or Ogbaru?

It's location is Ogbaru. Ogbaru gave Anambra more oil wells than Otuocha(Anambra north) axis. Infact it was the investment in Ogbaru by SEPCO of India that quickened the listing of Anambra as an oil producing state.

Inosi Onira Garden ,Onitsha looking evergreen this morning.

Seems the air in Onitsha is 5x clearer and neater than Awka. Onitsha has more trees than Awka. We need to do more on tree planting in Awka.

That's good to know. Hopefully the federal government will refund every penny they wrongfully gave to Delta state through those oil wells in ogbaru and let's also hope that Rivers state won't start contesting the ownership in future because it looks like the Ogbaru oil wells are near the boundary with Rivers state.

Anambra Importers Now Use Lagos Seaport, Rivers Operators Cry Out to FG

Clearing and forwarding operators in Rivers have called on the Federal Government to upgrade the Port Harcourt seaport to enable it meet current demands in cargo handling.

Mr Jose Lok, Managing Director, Ports and Terminal Operators Nig. LTD (PTOL) said this on Monday while addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Port Harcourt seaport was constructed over 100 years ago.

Lok was represented at the event by Mr Jonathan Njoku, Cooperate Affairs Manager, PTOL.

He said that an upgrade on the Port Harcourt port had become imperative as the facility could no longer accommodate further surface dredging.

“Our challenges are numerous but among the greatest are the draft; we have a very shallow draft, not more than nine meters and there is a limit to which a port could be dredged.

“The Port Harcourt port is over 100 years old, we even wanted to dredge it but the foundation is no longer conducive for further dredging“, he said.

He said other factors such as poor access roads, truck holding bays and poor security within the seaport were constraining businesses at the facility.

“If our ports here in the south are well secured, vessels will come, importers will be confident in bringing their cargoes.

“Right now most importers from Anambra especially Awka and Onitsha areas take their cargoes to as far as Lagos state where they have more confidence in safety of their goods,” he said.

The PTOL boss therefore urged relevant authorities to beef up security at the ports and their host communities.

“For instance, if importers spend a lot on security, they will be left with no option than factor it into prices of their goods and the end user now pays for whatever they may have spent.

“Goods down south will be cheaper than what we currently have if those security expenses which i described as needless are appropriately handled by relevant authorities.

“I call it needless expenses because in other ports, especially the Lagos ports, importers don’t make provision for security, they don’t spend money on security of their vessels and cargoes.

“We understand that no matter the model, insecurity cannot be eradicated but we are calling on relevant authorities to employ measures to ameliorate it,” he said.

Anambra is arguably the most important state in Nigeria. Even FG knows Anambra will retire Lagos if a standard Seaport is built in the state. This is why they are scared of building one in the state, and are frustrating every plane to commence full commercial flight operation at Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport....

Anambra and Delta states should partner to clean up the part of the River Niger that falls within their boundaries removing those water grass that makes the river look ugly.

The airport has been commissioned on 30th of November. Commercial activity was supposed to kick-off the same day but FG cancelled every all Airpeace flight that was suppose to take off and land in Anambra that day; leaving thousand of passengers stranded and disappointed.

If they can make a residential estates law that every new estate should have a dual carriage main entrance.

Even if they can only tar one lane at present. But must have space for the second lane in the future. This will ensure that those areas are not congested and liveable when its fully built and populated.

Likewise, all new state roads within the Awka capital territory must be dual carriage roads. They should at least leave space for the second lane if it cannot be done as dual carriage at the present. Just like Chime ave. Was designed as dual carriage road in 1922, but the second lane was only added in 2009 without demolishing a single property!
Which Chime Avenue. 1922 kwa?

SEEPCO of India is investing massively in oil and gas production in Ogbaru area of Anambra State. They are developing infrastructures for their ongoing oil production in Anambra.

Take note that SEEPCO entrance into Anambra quickened the inclusion of Anambra into the list of the oil producing states.

Agreed. I think there is a certain level of confidence in the government that has been restored by Obiano that must be upheld.

i remember the pictures below last year and how i totally doubted that the project would be completed within 18 months as the contract stipulated. Behold, it was done in 15 months!!!

Yes my dear, I know that the airport has been commissioned, you and I knows that works are still on going even before the they commissioned it, for instance, the excavators, the elevators, the avio bridges, the 36 shops, interior & exterior decor of the terminal building, the fire trucks and the landscaping or have have they abandoned them? What am saying is that they should continue to be showing us what is going on there as they use to do before the election. Ka Chineke Mezie Okwu!

Bros,

The airport has been completed and is ready for commercial service. How "completed was PH airport or Enugu airport when they were opened for commercial use? An airport is ready when the critical elements of an airport are ready.. Which are;
1. Runway,
2. Control Tower
3. Fire & Safety Department
4. Emergency Clinic
5. Perimeter fencing
6. Terminal building and basic utilities as toilets, seats, lighting, carousels.

To mention landscaping and avio bridges, escalators, wall interior decorations, internal shops or even car parks which aren't even present in many so-called International airports in Nigeria as criteria to decide an airport is ready is ludicrous.

By the way, Chicago's O'Hare International airport is currently working on trains that transport people between its terminals. Currently, you have to exit one terminal and enter a bus shuttle to get to the next terminal. So in your criteria, Chicago airport is not ready to receive commercial flights because it currently has a huge construction project there building underground trains to link its terminal buildings?

I am actually very happy that they are not showing any more activities at the airport. Those people that shut down the airport should go there and verify things instead of gleaming on social media gossip sites and nairaland to justify their illegal closure of the airport. I wish the state will reinstate their no-pictures order so that mischief-makers will stop posting anything about the airport on social media to mislead people and justify the unjustifiable closure.

Heart warming pictures. But we should guard against environmental degredation. The gas should be capped ASAP for power production. We should be talking about powering up Anambra independently.

I find it very annoying and frustrating that a state like Anambra, that's awash with gas, can't independently go into bilateral agreements with local or int'l gas and power coys to exploit said hydrocarbon for powering its economic renaissance! As things stand presently, all the state can do is siddon dey look while others in far away Abuja (who may or may not wish Ndigbo well) have ultimate control over what God has blessed the state with. Only they can decide how, when and who exploits the gas in the state....and they end up creaming off all the profit, while the state is left with next to nothing to show for its troubles!

When i talk of the unfair and unlevel playing field of the Nigerian political-economy, this is just another example out of many that helps buttress my point! I want NOTHING to stand in the way of the incoming administration, and want it to be able to use ALL the states human and natural resources at its disposal without having to wait for the 'blessing' of someone in far away Abuja who couldn't care less!

You're right. This is the problem of states depending on oil exports. It becomes a tightly controlled resource. As Nigeria is a multi ethnic country, there will be distrust here and there. I just hope this won't breed militancy.

EFCC APPREHENDS FANI-KAYODE OVER ALLEGED FORGERY AND MANIPULATION OF DOCUMENTS
Femi Fani Kayode the former minister of aviation has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Lagos state, over allegations of forgery and manipulations of documents and he's been questioned and investigated by EFCC.
His arrest was confirmed by the EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren.
In a statement by Fani Kayode, he said he wasn't arrested but was invited. He flew into Lagos, arrived at their office at 2pm and left at 8pm. "I was granted bail out of self recognition. They were very polite and professional. Thank God"
We recall that in 2016, Fani Kayode was captured by the anti graft agency alongside a former minister of state finance Nenadi Usman on allegations of money laundering and diversion of over N4.9billion fund.
Fani Kayode has been presenting a forged medical report as an excuse to evade his trial at the federal high court.
At the last sitting of the court in October 13. The judge imposed a fine of N200,000 on both Fani Kayode and Usman Nenadi, due to failure to appear before the court.
They were ordered to pay the fine or stand the risk of having his bail revolked. [url]https://infohub101.com/2021/11/24/efcc-apprehends-fani-kayode-over-alleged-forgery-and-manipulation-of-documents/

In 2014 november I boarded an airfrance flight at port harcourt airport with no terminal building. A tout (or airline nominated personnel) took our passports into a little tent and came out with the boarding pass. Our bags were weighed under a canopy. It was stressful. There was no air bridge, We all queued up outside an airbus A330 to board lol.

I guess this is a new airport and regulatory technicalities will delay the start of commercial operations.
