If these articles are current and not repealed then they would still be of no effect because the Constitution which is the primary law would make nonsense of it in its letter and spirit.

The law was probably passed by a legislative batch which had a majority of morons as is typical here in Nigeria

This type of law cannot stand. Traditional worshipers have their right too.

Completely agree. But the same holds for non-heterosexual individuals. Would you be in support of these groups of people, LGBTQ, also having their rights in our society? I'm indifferent towards them

People own charms for various reasons. Some use it to protect themselves from danger, while others use it to cause their fellow humans harm. However, no matter your reason for having charms in your possession it is still regarded as illegal.

Chapter 20 of the Criminal Code specifically makes provisions for the possession of witchcraft, juju, and criminal charms. In this article we would examine what the law provides on charms, juju and witchcraft.

According to Section 210 of the Criminal Code, any person who fits into certain categories will be guilty of an offence. These categories include:

1. Any person who by statements or actions represents himself as a witch

2. Any person who accuses or threatens to accuse any person with being a witch or having the power or witchcraft

3. Any person who makes, sells, uses or has in his possession any charm, juju or drug which has powers

4. Any person who directs, controls or takes part in the worship or invocation of any juju prohibited by the state commissioner

5. Any person who is in possession or has control over any human remains used or intended to be used in the worship or invocation of any juju

6. Any person who makes, assists in making or has in his possession anything believed to be associated with human sacrifice or other unlawful practice

Anyone suspected to be under any of the categories listed above would be guilty of a misdemeanour. He or she would be liable to an imprisonment term of two years.

An offender who fits into any of the categories above must be arrested with a warrant.

Furthermore, according to Section 213 of the Criminal Code, any person who makes or sells charms that has the power to protect criminals or delay the course of justice would be guilty of a felony. He or she would be liable to an imprisonment term of five years.

Nope to your question.
I assume you are a christian.
There are human sacrifices, stoning to death, lying to advance faith and others in the bible.
Should I assume you are a human ritualist, intolerant bigot and liar by default?

The koran, the bible, the rosary ALL qualify as charms. Therefore, Christianity and Islam is also technically illegal.

Yoruba Race: You are being manipulated if you do these 11

One thing about manipulation is that the person being manipulated will think everything is Ok and that he or she is doing the right thing. Here are 11 signs to know whether you are being manipulated as a Yoruba human.

#1. You revoke your Yoruba name because it has one of the Orishas in it: Whether it’s your pastor that convinced you by giving you some spiritual excuses or its because you want to travel out of Nigeria, one way or the other you are been manipulated.

#2. You see Yoruba religion as idolatry: all the world religion is idolatry, including all the Abrahamic religion: Christianity, Islam, name it. For a religion to be idolatry, there must be items of worship or of reference to deity like pictures or statutes e.g. the cross, Kaaba of the Bedouin tribes; religion rituals such as the killing of rams, Holy communion; and then Human-God reference or representative and or messenger.

#3. You totally believe the slave trade narration as better explanation for the appearance of the Yoruba race all over the world: This is a lie that we are been told again and again. Yoruba are believed to be part of the pre-Columbia American.

#4. You derogatory call the Yoruba language “vernacular” and shun children and young adult from speaking it: The word "vernacular" in itself is not a negative word as it is simply can mean "indigenous language of a people". If a people are prevented from speaking their language, then who will?

#5. You do not have many Yoruba traditional wears: If you think that putting on of Yoruba cloth will make you look less "corporate", and you don't really care about acquiring Yoruba traditional outfit, you may need to have a rethink about your heritage and start taking deliberate effort about this.

#6. You prefer foreign music to Yoruba: non Yoruba music are all good, in fact you can get spiritual and entertained through music, but manipulation set in when you start making illogical preference to non-Yoruba music and think music about Yoruba Orisha, culture and tradition are bad.

#7. You cannot recite some of the Yoruba poems and rhymes: Poems and rhymes are part of your cultural identity. The poems were created to teach morals and inculcate the Omoluabi character. If you defaulted here, then now is the time not to only start learning but to also teach your children. Teachers in schools should also encourage teaching and memorising of these. Have you seen the beauty of: Toju Iwa, Ise loogun ise, Kini n o fole se laye ti mo wa...

#8. You do not have a Yoruba name or you hate being called by your Yoruba name.

#9. You name your children many non-Yoruba name and prefer to call them by their non-Yoruba names: This is also a sign of been manipulated.

#10. Your children cannot speak Yoruba: They speak other language fluently but you frowning at them whenever they speak Yoruba is inferiority complex and a sign of been manipulated. This is not even in the Yoruba gene. 'A complete child' should be taught to speak not only foreign language fluently but also Yoruba.

#11. You think that explaining of concepts with Yoruba in schools is bad: how better will a student understand than when tough concepts are explained using the student's native language.

This is actually the reason why this COUNTRY is hardly moving forward, these native doctors have all but recked havoc on our freedom to choose what's right as normal human being by helping these people utter the course of future at the expense of others who doesn't partake in it. This is the reason why it appears as though God is deliberately ignoring this nation because we can all still be traced to this idolatry practises and to think that it still happens to this very day by our leaders and children that wants to be rich just shows what to expect in the nearest future.

Because the constitution was written by both Christians and Muslims, they both criminalised the traditional worshippers

Thank you.
That law needs to be scrapped.
There should be religious freedom in this country as long as no one's getting hurt.

By definition, rosary, cross, prayer beads, Koran, Bible, anointing oil or water, anointing handkershief, etc are also charms.
It was actually British that criminalised some traditional practices especially human sacrifices.
It is irony that traditionalists don't patronise imams or pastors for help but most Christians and muslms visit traditionalists for help.
Politicians also encourage these harmful traditional practices.
It is high time Government stops all forms of spiritual healings through imams, pastors or traditional priests. Policy of every man to his god or God should be introduced. Say no to intermediaries betweem gods or God and men.

It's haram to believe an intercessor can help you before God.
