I love Messi and Ronaldo alike, but if Lewandowski had won this award, it wouldn't have caused any controversy whatsoever because he surely deserves it.

The award was cancelled unfortunately last year (due to covid). He picked up from where he stopped the previous season and broke records last season and yet his best was not good enough.

I guess like all popular awards, it's a popularity contest, reason why I don't respect these awards.

Trophies and Game Stats are it for me. I'm done with award shows, it's all politics.

Lewandowski could have won it if his Poland team had won the Euros or if his Bayern Munich term had won the UCL last season
