Those countries you mentioned are not better than Nigeria in anyway, and can't be called Giants.
You are talking about development , have you travelled to any of those countries before and see what people face. Look there's no peaceful place in this world.

Even if Nigeria has the finest roads and most stable economy in the world , people would always complain.
And this Nigeria we are taking about is not just a geographical area, we are the Nigeria.

Which international event? Normally, due to our size, that is just the basic respect given to such country. Nothing more. Aside that, Nigerians are searched multiple times for carrying Nigeria's passport.

Nigeria has no water for her citizens, no electricity, no proper emergency service, terrible health care, pathetic education, instability that gets worse, citizens who keep running away from their country in large numbers, etc. Naija is not a giant. It is failed.

Ordinary local league, Nigeria has the worse in Africa. What makes someone a giant when u don't have a single thing working for u? Tunisia has even a more organized football and basketball leagues. I was in Ghana and couldn't believe that greater part of Ghana has electricity. I stayed 8 days and they only took the light twice and each time, they brought it back within 40 seconds. I didn't see generator set.

Na only Nigerians dey accommodate suffering and smiling.
All these countries, their citizens will go gaga if their govt fail them with the most basic things such as electricity, water, health care, etc.

Oga, these countries I mentioned have at least stable electricity, water, good roads, in their major cities.

In Nigeria, we dig our borehole to get water, we buy generator or install expensive solar system to generate electricity, we now travel by air to avoid being kidnapped, we abandoned govt school for private schools due to poor quality, we hire private security to guide our neighborhoods, govt in Nigeria is so useless. There is absolutely nothing they are doing for me. They are only milking my tax. Nothing. Many countries would have gone mad if they experience what we experience.

Did u know that some war torn countries have more stable electricity than Nigeria? Eg Iraq.

Uhm I don't think getting to be the president is "success" in itself, it is what you do with it that determines whether you are a success or a failure. I think that is what he was trying to say.

Also, we make it sound as if just getting to be president is all the success that is needed. It is not, it is actually a lot of work and that is why many "working" presidents end up with grey hair and even lose a lot of weight by the time they are leaving power.

Our mindset and orientation on this issue in this part of the world is not okay. That is how we encourage impunity and excessive arrogance in our leaders because once they get there they feel they can now relax and enjoy the good things of life for free rather than actually working hard for the people.

If that was how developed countries were built, they would have died.

Govt is simple: humans come together to elect someone to manage their resources and tax to help provide them basic amenities needed to function while these elected humans are paid. There are no two ways around it. ur politicians must do what they are paid to do. It is not me who is not paid that will do them. They already collect my tax.
