Must be poor attempt at sarcasm. Tanzania is hopeless place. Kenya is nearly doubling it's GDP. It's a country the twice the size of Kenya - and now Kenya is approaching 3 times - TZ paved road network.

Tanzania is one country that is almost a paradox - they have all the ingredient for success - peaceful, lots of natural resources including huge arable land, long coastline, generally peaceful neigberhours - but they have africa laziest and dull people.

It is what I call illiteracy, 95% of Nigerians can only vote for two people 1 a criminal another of them is somebody which is stupid which can only destroy them. I have hear this a lot for my Nigerian Brothers abroad let's vote for the person and suffered together. As I told you illiterate do not care. Educated person see danger and make noise and get out of the danger. An illiterate will put his head into the sand like an ostrich

No. DRC is hell hole outside Kinshasa. Tanzania is peaceful but just under developed. The country doesn't even have rumour of any war. It's arguably one of most peaceful countries in Africa.

Why is it so poor. It's deep communism roots will take some years to undo. Unlike most countries that implemented half hearted communist - Nyerere had a scorched earth communism policy - that basically uprooted people from their homes and land - into villages (Ujamaa) - took away their land rights and then compounded with education policy that is crazy.

Tanzania kids spend all their primary studying in Kiswahil. Then suddenly in high school - the language of instruction - changes to English. So you have a failed education system where average high school graduate cannot construct a sentence in English and are functionally illiterates. In normal country like even Ethiopia or Sudan - country would stick to Kiswahili or Arabic to the very end - but that sudden switch has kids totally confused and the educational outcome is very bad.

As much as the country is blessed with incredible natural resources - it's weak property rights - forex controls - and poor education - means foreign investment outside minerals is very minimal.

So just imagine a vast country with Dar in the coast - then huge wilderness - with villagers grouped in Ujamaa settlements - just growing maize and beans - endless maize and beans fields - with very little in infrastructure (roads) - at least electricity is catching up.

Nigeria at least has Oil - chaos - and decent education. Tanzania just has maize and beans - and illiterate people.

Tanzania Ujamaa Policy versus Kenya cooperative - both were socialism - Tanzania had bad outcomes - Kenya cooperative movement is still a roaring success.

When we united with Zanzibar,not everything was included in the union gov,sport is one of them.So each side can do in their own way.So Zanzibar chose to compete separately.CAF agreed on that,but FIFA denied them to compete in world cup competitions.
Zanzibar have been in CAF competitions for a very long time.
We have somehow a very strange union.
