Good morning Nairalanders, I will keep it simple and precise, so I am a military personnel in my 200 level Pharmacy Department in a Nigerian University but recently I was drafted to the north east. Which means all my efforts and money spent in school will be gone at the cost of serving Nigeria. Though I have no other financial support except the salary from the military which is why Quitting the military will be hard.

Things don change for military now ni?

First of all you are confused, are you in the Military so that you can make the money to see yourself through school or you are in the Military for the passion, no one would be able to advice you if these ambiguity remains.

Secondly is your passion for the pharmaceutical and the medics, or you are in the pharmaceutical and medics so as to benefit your career in the Military and society.

Well from every indication, you are a smart chap who is a go getter but it is situation like this that define it all, draw up your scale of preference and make a decision as a soldier or as a pharmaceutical student you got to make a decision.

North East is a terrible zone so you may also consider your decisions, but I will quite both the army and the school at this point and go make some money that's what I will do, from all indications your passion is the money so go out there and get it, your graduation is not certain without money from the Military, your grade may drop, your coming back safe and sound from North East is not certain either, but what is certain is that the money will always be printed.

I advised you this way becuase you seem to have no passion whatsoever, you just want the success.

If I will advice you. You have more potential in pharmacy than military. Don't lose your Pharmacy admission cos of Nigeria military. Use your tongue to count your teeth

defer the semester. talk to the school board and identify as a security personally. you can't stay more than 2years in North East. .
usually 6months to a year. but if your fully posted there, my brother just go find new school..

You are a soldier and your services are needed in the NE. Or do you prefer the SE? May you be safe if you haven't brutalized innocent civilians

You can keep doing your school and military but it will cost you a lot of money. Which part of the north east if brono which region north or south before I will give you my advice

defer ur studies for one year, it may cost u just little money. If u r unable to get transferred back to ur present location from the North East after one year, you can still apply for another deferment.
