Whatever privilege you gained today use it judiciously and assist others without expecting anything in return from those you have helped. Many times we waste glorious opportunities on superficial things and later we will be left with nothing to savour except nostalgic moments.

but how? I believe that it's better to give one person 10m than to give 10 people 100k each, it's better my money makes a difference than providing temporary social float

Giving no matter how good your intentions are can be a progressive burden too, people often mock the rich for marrying themselves but they know the financial burden that a poor family will place on their child, in some cases an entire community can be dependent on an individual that married into a poor family

Hence my tough love approach, help yourself and let's see proposals that we can both make money from

You are very right. And that is my own belief. I have thought about it and researched it properly too

Life is not going to be fair to all and its the way it is, you have to help yourself. Govt cannot legislate equality, it doesn't work, See all the countries that have tried it.

Its basically working against natural human and animal instincts. A lion does not go hunting because he wants to feed the Leopards family
The main reason you work hard is because you want a better life for yourself and your family. If they told you that work hard so that Uche doesn't suffer, will you continue to do the same level of hard work?
Now if they say after your hardwork, govt will take more and more of it because Uche, Alli and Akin are suffering, I doubt you will maintain the motivation to work as hard
You have the option to work hard or to laze around, what motivates you to choose one of the 2 options?

Life is not black or white like that.
I don't think that only greed defines us all. Life should be balanced.

We all have a degree of greed and selfishness in us but we also have a healthy degree of empathy and care for people around us. Surely, they must have been some periods in your life you did good for someone for the sake of being good. Or you were a bit concerned when a child around you started crying.

It is my firm belief that anybody getting into GOVERNMENT must strive to make the society more equitable. You live in a country that was formed by different people from all over the world coming together to form a society and govern themselves. That's the best of ideals. That's why I'm disgusted by Republicans and their ideals.

It's the most blatant of individualism and hypocrisy.
You see people whose parents went there with nothing and met a better society and became something, blocking others from doing the same. It makes no sense.
I mean, in America, taxpayers dollars are used to build schools and roads and hospitals and pensions etc. All these, so that every child can go to school for free and every old person will have free money to take care of themselves and every individual can have better health care.
All these are paid from everyone's taxes and payments to the government's. Therefore creating a better and healthy society.

And then when people have enjoyed the benefits of this society to become even better in life, they turn around and say, NO. TEA. Taxed Enough Already.
We don't want to pay our fair share of taxes. It's abominable. It's a shame, it's hypocritical.

I think it's bad that you've embraced our greedy nature. Greed is bad. It's in all of us, but nonetheless bad. We must uphold the virtues of love and care and build our lives and ideals upon it.

I dont know where you get your American views from

Look all over the world and countries who embraced communism, what became of them? They all died off

In football its like saying Ronaldo should part with his wages to accommodate Werner or Shawcross. That will end up not only demotivating Ronaldo to push himself, but Werner will also not see the need to improve since Ronaldo can do all the work and get gets some of the proceeds

There is a reason people will brace everything to escape All those communist countries into America because its a place where you give your best and will be rewarded and your success will not be punished

It would be better for Tuchel to look for quality additions this January, especially for Ngolo Kante, who has been battling lingering injuries for the past few seasons.

Yves Bissouma is a player who has caught my eyes, i don't know what you guys think of him.

We need to get tchouameni or Frank de Jong come january...our midfield option is limited to me Chelsea only have 2½ midfield Kante, kovavic and the half jorgihno...all those RLC, Saul they're all useless like p in psychology no positive impact at all.

Socialism is very different from communism. But even at that, America has had a good mixture of capitalist economy and democratic socialism.

It's not individuals that build roads or , the government does these using payments made from the citizens. Also schools and hospitals.
That's socialism.

And please let me make my distinction clear. I'm focused on government vs the individual. As individuals, it's an undeniable fact that we have traits of greed but when we come together to govern ourselves {the government},we must strive to make the society equitable.

Left to the republicans, the government isn't supposed to do these things but to leave it only for private individuals to do this and the people pay the said individual. That government should have as little role as possible. It's an ideal borne of greed and individualism.

We can have equal opportunities we cannot legislate equal outcomes. Punishing the wealthy and imposing a higher burden on them is trying to legislate outcomes

In America school up to high school is free there are many social programs.

Trying to say because your outcome in life is higher or lower than your neighbors thus we need to equalize you is wrong.

Everyone in life has their own advantage they can sell, you can write well, some cannot. Some are born naturally athletic some are not. We cannot say Lebron James should be forced to part with what he earns from his talent and hardwork

That's two different things.

No Government can solve inequality, nor should they ever try to, or even care to. The key to developed society is that innovation is suitably rewarded enough to drive economic growth.

However, to keep the have-nots satisfied so that they don't try to eat the haves, any reasonable government will focus on improving the basic standard of living. Here in the UK, it's free education, free healthcare, a benefit system for the poor, free cars for the disabled etc.

The key is to give the disadvantaged access to decent quality of life, not to try and equalise the experience for everyone - that's basically what happened in Russia and China under Stalin and Mao.

You can soften the harshness of inequality by providing free education for all irrespective of your social class till college, free healthcare, free or cheap accommodation for the needy, access to cheap food and a basic living income, teach children personal responsibility early

Provide those then anybody that chooses to live a life entirely dependent on society can feed and have a meaningful life without aspiring to harm others to survive, that's humane, everybody can't be rich no matter how many times you roll the dice, right from the dawn of civilization, society can only thrive of the backs of the exploited, at least with the social security that the above provides, personal responsibility becomes more pronounced, see what's happening in america today, companies pay well when workers aren't desperate or there is significant labour shortage

Thats another advantage, every job has a fair wage that justifies it's role, every product has a fair price that maximizes operating income while being affordable to everybody that wants it , this system will push companies to achieve both and that's beneficial to it's workers, customers and society at large

America spent 2 trillion in Afghanistan, granted it provided jobs for thousands but if you redirected those funds to solving housing or healthcare, you can still provide those jobs and even do a greater public good for your people but they wouldnt because homelessness and destitution are used to coerce the middle class into servitude without objections

More than half of all individual personal debt in america is medical, not mortgages, medical debts, some lost everything because of just one medical bill

What reasonable governments do is to try to lessen the gap between the rich and the poor with the aim of improving standard of living. No country can achieve sustainable development when her wealth rests only in the hands of few.

Government make policies targeted at breaking the vicious circle of poverty within its populace. One of these policies is to fight the evils of capitalism which keeps the economy in redundancy.

Let's take for example the Chinese owned company Inner Galaxy Group at Umuahala, Ukwa West LGA, Abia state. Their workers are mostly villagers who are terribly exploited and treated like slaves. They work from 6am to 7pm, with little pay. What these workers earn can only be spent on consumption with no savings. Because they have no savings, they can not invest to create more job opportunities in their village. Because they can't invest, they have to depend on Inner Galaxy Group. All things being equal, Umuahala can never witness development due to "low rate of capital formation", which is the major problem of undeveloped country.

One of the causes of this low rate of capital formation is extreme inequalities in income distribution. This is because, only a few percentage of the economy can save effectively and most of the time, this few percentage invest in unproductive channels like golds and other precious stones, real estates, foreign currency etc. Others will prefer to buy luxurious items due to what is termed the "demonstration effect". That is, rich people of underdeveloped countries trying to imitate rich people of developed countries. These acts distorts real investment.

Government providing some of these things you called public services, they are subtly arming her citizens with warheads to break the vicious circle of poverty; this will lead to more savings and investement which will translate to economic development.

Everyone cannot be equal, but governments should try to bridge the distance between the extremely rich and the extremely poor, so that sustainable economic development can be attained.

I am strictly speaking from the economic perspective; morality or ethics has no basis here.

Wealth has always been concentrated in the hands of a few. That hasn't stopped developed countries from actually...developing.

Providing public services is not the same as lessening inequality. If you are an unemployed UK citizen, the government will put you on monthly stipend so you don't starve. They will put you in subsidised accomodation so you are not homeless. They will ensure that you have access to free healthcare via the NHS, and that your children have access to free quality education.

What they will not do is try to equalise you with the rich. In the same UK, most of the elite attend what we call public schools, the most famous/popular (Eton) of which cost £30k a year. For reference, average annual salary in UK is 25-29k a year. Eton has produced more prime ministers than any other schools in a country where secondary school education is Free

In a country that has over 50 universities, there's a reason why most of its prime ministers attended Oxford.

That should tell you the difference between inequality and public service.

If you do not allow a man to become stinkingly rich as a reward for his innovation, he will not innovate and your economy will never grow. That's what happened in Russia and China under Stalin and Mao, and both leaders had to literally force people to work on the pain of death to stimulate economic growth...which was not not sustainable and resulted in catastrophic death tolls in both countries.

As I told raumdeuter, there is a big difference between socialism and communism. In communism, the government owns all means of production, which means no private ownership of lands or companies. It's all run by the government with the aim of equality amongst all. This system has the adverse effects of creating corrupt autocracies.

But socialism exists within a democratic system. Here, the people do have a say on where their money should be spent while still having a capitalist economy.

These public services are a means to creating equal access to opportunities. The social security system, and the free education and health care were legislated to try and create EQUITY not necessarily EQUALITY.
For instance, in Africa, there are some pregnant women who don't have money to have proper health care who end up delivering their babies in very unsanitary conditions in their homes. Leading to high maternal and mortality rate.

Developed nations were able to solve this menace by taxing people and using that money to create a free healthcare system for the pregnant. Now pregnant women can deliver their babies for free, the rich ones can even get much better healthcare.
In communism, this would be outlawed as the focus is equality, not necessarily equity.

Government must do more to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. It should be an ideal.

Creating equal access to opportunities helps in reducing the gap of wealth.

In communism, this would be outlawed as the focus is not equality, not necessarily equity.

Government must do more to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. It should be an ideal.
the so called left movement, with capitalist dreams cheesy cheesy cheesy

you guys are the biggest pretenders, rights are also bad but your own is amusing, you are not doing anything just triggering issues without solving them especially recently

america is the greatest nation on earth, they have attained everything, results are in, capitalism is doomed, inequality everywhere the sun touches, instead of solving this issue once and for all, you are still promoting a mild shift to the real left that is temporary and wouldnt do anything, left movement especially the ones with capitalist foundations are the biggest social ponzi scheme in the world

broad social change at societal level is hard because of democracy itself, thats why after you look up and down at issues you look back at yourself, to throw dirt inside an appropriate place has become a habit, sometimes dirt will full the car because i dont want to dirty the streets, small small things like that are individualist and make a difference collectively, government can only do so much, you as an individual need to work on yourself

democracy in its current form is built to serve at the pleasure of capitalism

2/3 of legislations passed in the world are passed to benefit individuals or industries and in democracy the only way to fight against things like this is through legislation and people with actual power have that door locked shut, what else is there but aggregate intellectual growth? want to start a revolution, anarchy is not child's play, you will take your society back at least 50 years before recovery to the state before anarchy is even possible self thats if your nation survives it

people in power understand that public pr and financial capital guarantees their standing among the ignorant masses, they will enforce policies to maintain status quo, work on your self, lets educate ourselves, growth a significant number that can enact feasible societal change thats the only way

government is stupid, cant you see it all over the world, stop waiting for the government to do, they no send you, become the government

Havertz10:

If you know this, then why are you still anti- English for this same reason ?
