aloskyyoung: Hi, are the pending October applications tourism visa or for reunification purpose? I think purpose and dates of visit impacts how soon they're treating the files. Also it's interesting to see the speed at which they're treating December files. Just when we thought they might slow down cos of the travel ban. CIC always full of surprises. |

Family unification- according to IRCC definition of a family- doesn’t include siblings. Don’t you guys think it’s an uphill battle trying to convince a VO that you want to fly thousands of miles to Canada to visit a sibling or as a tourist in this pandemic, and in the middle of winter when most tourist attractions are closed. Canada isn’t a major tourist destination. You must be well grounded in your home country before such visa can be approved. Spouses, children and parents are their priority; and that’s what family unification was meant for |

iwinosajack: While I agree with the other parts of your comments, family reunification does include siblings. It falls under the extended family unification. I've read of siblings granted visa this year even before the new portal was released; they may/may not require written authorization. Ofcourse there's a high approval rate for parents application vs siblings. 2 Likes

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by iwinosajack: 12:12pm On Dec 12, 2021 |
OloriOfMontreal: Check the profiles of those approved to unite with extended family members or for tourism. They make sure only those that will not abscond or overstay are approved. People that are well established in their home countries. People with juicy jobs or businesses, extensive travel history. Immediate family unification is their priority. The inclusion of extended family imo, is a money grab opportunity for ircc. Millions of people apply but only a small percentage is approved |

FG RETALIATES, BANS AIRLINES COMING INTO NIGERIA FROM UK,CANADA AND SAUDI ARABIA The Federal Government of Nigeria has decided to restrict Airlines coming into Nigeria from UK, CANADA and SAUDI ARABIA. Capt. Hadi Sirika, on Sunday 12th December 2021 announced the decision taken by the federal government to restrict Airlines coming from these countries to Nigeria in order to fight them back for adding Nigeria to their red list with regards to the wide spread of omicron variant. Sirika added that the Administration of president Mohammadu Buhari will also place the United Kingdom, Canada, Saudi Arabia on a red list of Airlines coming to Nigeria. The minister said that if those countries placed Nigeria on their red list, they lack the moral right to have their airlines fly to Nigeria to perform commercial operations. He added, “ there is also the case of Saudi Arabia that put Nigeria on the ban list. On Sunday, I participated in a meeting with COVID 19 task force. ” we have given our input that it is not acceptable by us. And we recommended that those Canada, uk, Saudi Arabia and Argentina also be put on the red list. ”As they did to us, if they do not allow our citizens into their countries, who are they coming as Airlines to pick from our country. “ They are not supposed to come in. I am very sure in the next three days, Monday or Tuesday, all those countries will be put on the red list of covid-19”. The minister said. Capt Sirika concluded that those countries that put Nigeria on their red list will be added to Nigerians red list, as he apologised to Nigerian citizens that wishes to travel out. Please can I send passport to vfs office Abuja with UPS? |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by TheExalted: 11:27am On Dec 13, 2021 |
RuggedArab: Yes but you will have to pay about 24k, 14k for the package to & fro, then 7k or so to the VFS Abuja if you did your bio-metric elsewhere. Learnt Abuja is faster, you get your passport within a week. I submitted passport on Monday, I should have it back by the end of the day today. You will pay only 4k however if you submit your passport to Lagos, assuming your bio-metric was done in Lagos. |

I am a bit lost with respect to the travel ban. Are Nigerian passport holders completely banned for now? Otherwise, can one travel to a country not on the list (e.g. Dubai, Ghana, Cotonou, Ethiopia, Germany, etc.) and then take a flight from there to Canada after 15 days? Anyone tried this lately? Please advise. |

galala123: Those countries go soon ban Nigeria, make una take am easy. The ban is just temporary which will be lifted soon. You already have your visa, why not wait till they lift the ban instead of putting yourself at unnecessary risk. 2 Likes |

some people have been seperated from their spouses for extended periods and you are telling them to take it easy? people have their reasons for their actions. i see no problem in exploring loopholes in order to reunify with your family. maziude: 2 Likes |
