The Nigerian Navy takes its ship building to the next level with the commissioning of NNS Oji, a larger version of two earlier built ships, NNS Andoni (2012) and NNS Karaduwa (2016). The ship was commissioned by President Buhari, a keen supporter of the navy's manufacturing roadmap for indigenous ship construction and fleet development. It might not be as gadgety or sophisticated as foreign built ships, but Nigerian metal works are built to last long in our climate. Certain Nigerian products like our cables & wires are far better than their foreign counterparts. Few people realize that a locally fabricated generator soundproofing might not be glamorous looking, but it’s a lot more efficient than the foreign ones. And that is what counts if ure going for power & peace in the home. Peace in the nation on the other hand goes beyond commissioning a new boat, but at the very least we didn’t borrow this and that is something! 1 Like |
