Goldeneye.

Tomorrow Never Dies.

The World Is Not Enough.

Die Another Day.

I see why people like Pierce Brosnan as James Bond.
Sean Bean, Denise Richards, Gerard Butler, Halle Berry, Jonathan Pryce and Michelle Yeoh all appeared in each of these films

Amongst the individuals who mentioned, he's the only one who didn't feature in a lead role.

A star is born (2018) : 7/10

I've been putting off watching this movie for three years now because I was angry when it premiered. It had the exact plot of an Indian movie I watched in 2014, Aashiqui. I hate when people do a remake of original movies. But on further research, I realized, even Bollywood adapted it from a book , I still didn't watch though.

Few days ago, the famous song in the movie, Shallow, came to me , twice in one day. First on a reality show , then on tiktok. That's when it dawned on me that , it was the universe way of telling me to watch.

Although I already knew the plot and how it was going to end, it didn't stop a few tears from slipping out. I hate sad endings cry

The Last Duel ........9/10

This is a masterpiece. Brilliant performance from all the cast members. Didn't know Ben Affleck got this range — very convincing performance. Matt Damon and Adam Driver more than delivered. Jodie Comer did brilliantly.
The ending truly captures life in the 14th century, how disputes are settled and the reality of womenfolk in the past.

The perspective of the story broken into three parts according to the 3 main characters was brilliant. Each characters motivation and viewpoint was adequately explored.

The movie should have made more at the box office. I guess medieval history ain't as captivating as before.

During those times it must have been horrible being a woman, especially being a woman without family name or repute.

I had a discussion with a friend about the movie. Can you imagine he wished things of today were like things of the past.

Dude said nowadays a woman can come out and accuse you of whatever, if you prove her accusation false, she goes away scud free. If you sue her people will start begging for her using her being a woman as an excuse and you being a man as the very reason why you should let her go.

According to him "those days, women don't go to war, women don't farm, women don't go to school, they don't work or even earn a living, al they do is birth babies and take care of them, how is today's woman different from the ones in the past".

Bro afraid catch me for the guy sha. No be even fear catch me.

20th century did little or no marketing for the movie and this surprised me cuz it had a stellar cast and a Ridley Scott movie, this was more than enough reason to push it well. After seeing very positive reviews from critics before the movie limited theatre run, it was already too late to do any serious marketing, and Disney which 20 century is a subsidiary of, will still turn in a huge profit at the end of the year, weren't too bothered. Any movie not getting proper marketing in this pandemic will most likely falter at the box office no matter how good the movie is. I am seeing "Spiderman in PSG's dressing room holding a PSG jersey... That's the kind of drive you need for your movie to succeed in this COVID times.

Well said. I think it's Disney's lackadaisical way of treating 20th Century inherited movies.
It's only West Side Story they're serious about cos it's classical Disney fair. They're trying to sell Deep Water off to streaming cos it's adult content. Yeye company.

I remember telling one guy few weeks ago in the series thread that this movie was poorly marketed. Baba dey follow me argue say e no mean.
I also blame Ridley Scott and his marketing team, the movie wasn't promoted with the stellar cast they got, they were more focused on the story. If you watch the trailers you'll see there wasn't any from "The Director of Alien, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down" whatsoever. Tasteless marketing.

During this pandemic, if you can't promise audience of top tier entertainment and convince everyone why you need to see this in the big screen, na whining you dey.

Gucci which is Directed by the same director is more successful and continues to generate substantial returns. Funny enough, they're both adult dramas, also historical retellings and Adam Driver.

Spiderman marketing is superb. They were also at the Ballon d'Or with Tom and Zendaya paying homage to Messi. grin

Sheesh.... Mehn, at times if you hear the views of some men about women fear go truly catch you o.

Men really repressed woman back in the days, reason why at times people don't take feminist talks serious.

While he may be right about some facts about women not working in the dark ages and so on, there were some civilizations that women were regarded as equals amongst men and even went to war.

I think Marvel's Dora Milaje is adapted from a west African (Benin Republic?) tribe of elite warrior women; sole purpose to protect their king.

The film is very solid because it properly shows how life was in the middle ages, but I still don't get why people are surprised.

It's this same Ridley Scott that directed Kingdom of Heaven and Gladiator: seems historical features are his forte.
