If not for people working in Dubai I would say the Nigerian Gov act like abacha or obasanjo and tell Nigerians to come back home or avoid Dubai completely visit other locations.

UAE is nothing, nothing original.
Most of those screaming imports from UAE don’t know the imports are from Deira market and free trade zone only.
It’s a desert with a multi lane road that has high rise construction on that road called Sheikh Zayed Road. It’s something we can do easily by making sure Lagos market is very safe and has nice hotels. Making Lagos-Ibadan expressway multi lanes and spending our money there on high rises and copying tourist sites from around the world. Nobody goes to Abu Dhabi and Dubai market is not run by Emiratis, it’s foreigners, mostly Indians. The construction workers are also like slaves from Bangladesh.
The goods in their markets come from other countries, those manufacturers have shops in Dubai because it’s closer to Africa where people like to stop and shop. The main importers, those doing numbers don’t import from UAE. The sellers in Dubai can ship directly from their main operating country such as India or China. It’s time we opened our own high end malls and bring top car manufacturers, electronics snd clothes designers here.
Electricity is not so hard, there’s a reason why they haven’t let us be capacity sufficient even when we don’t have many industries while we have countries like China buying oil and gas from us to power their factories and millions of houses.
Any govt that wants to do business with Nigeria should be ready to build power plants, not the plenty trains, roads and airports
Nigeria has at least 36 solid minerals apart from Oil and gold. It’s time we started to show we are one of Gods blessed nations, the true Giants of the true Africa

The summary of this whole thing is that Nigeria does not have any clout in the international community.

For people like you that are close to Buhari, please help us tell him to lead Nigeria well and develop Nigeria. This is the only way to overcome the insults from other countries.

Weak nations cannot expect to be respected in the international community. You can't build strength by mouth but by making your country developed and relevant in such a way others would be scared to challenge.

They met , had an agreement and the UAE threatened the sovereignty of Nigeria hence the show of power. Its unfair, that Nigeria gave UAE 21 weekly routes to Nigeria, 14 to lagos and 7 to Abuja, and UAE cant give Nigeria 3 weekly flight slots to their second busiest airport.

Nigeria reduced UAE flights to once a week, UAE insulted the country demanding a reversal ‘or else’. This hs resulted to the complete ban.

I think the ministry of aviation and the Government team did the right thing. If anyone wants to go to Dubai, they should fly to Qatar and find their way in, same for Nigeria, fly to Ghana and find your way in until this issue is resolved
