Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu today commissioned the newly reconstructed Network of Roads in Victoria Island (Adeola Hopewell Street, Idowu Taylor Street and Afribank Street).

Adeola Hopewell and Afribank/ Churchgate Streets are One-way traffic road while Idowu Taylor is a two-way. The three roads form a ring road-like pattern that serves that sector of Victoria Island.

The network discharges traffic into Sanusi Fafunwa which also connects back to Adeyemo Alakija Street at it tail end.

Some of the features of the road designs: interlocking paving stones on walkway and Carriageway Provision of service ducts, street/lane marking and provision of Streetlights.


The commissioning of these network of roads will improve Inter-connectivity with other roads within area, eliminate perennial flooding and erosion problems experienced within the axis and better socio-economic activities within the area.

Why is it that every time, only roads in Ikoyi, Lekki, Ikeja etc that always appeal to the administration? The roads for the common man are not deserving construction or rehabilitation

why are they not fixing all of Nigeria? You can’t do everything all at once. You have to start from somewhere and expand from there. That’s how real estate development works.

What has Enugu, abia and imo commissioned these past 4 years except chicken Republic? We must learn from our more intelligent yoruba brothers.

The development in Lagos has proven that every state has what it takes to become self sufficient. We need to look inward. Instead of these states to focus on internally generated funds. We need more states to start challenging Lagos and rivers that way it will force these states to do more and also encourage other states to do better. There is always a construction work going on somewhere in Lagos.

I’ve been to numerous cities in Nigeria. And I’ve been to multiple cities in the U.S., Europe, and even in Morocco. I know world class cities speaking from visiting experience. Lagos is better than many cities in Morocco and some in Europe as well.

This state has all the resources to be a country of its own, but one particular thief has stolen everything for himself and the idiots who are supposed to hold him accountable, are busy hailing and defending the thief while they are suffering. If you talk, they will tell you to face your state. Meanwhile MC Oluomo's children just graduated from University abroad while some of them are ok becoming agberos and vulture grillers. This glorified slum of a state with fake life and fake everything is what someone is calling a world class city.

I wish your eyes can be opened to see the amount of IGR- which runs into hundreds of billions monthly-that is being looted by the frog eyed thief and drug baron.

No governor in this contraption is really working, but Lagos alone can sustain itself and even assist other states like Ogun if the resources were judiciously managed.

Bunch of mediocres everywhere.
