I know power rationing is starting to creep in like Nigeria.
But Nairobi definitely catching up - very fast.
Catching up to what? Be specific

Prepare for expensive power as coal is dirty cheap and no one will fund any such environment unfriendly projects going forward.
AfriqueDuZuid:
Let's stop making a mountain of Mole hill,

The reason for it was due to explosion to one of major power station, that's thousands of MW.

Power rationing is not a daily occurrence, we do spend 6 months of no downtime. When it does we complain. That 2 hours is important we don't settle for less.

Yes theres mega coal power station in construction.
Tons of solar and and windfarms in construction.

On top Germany France and UK gave SA AROUND $9b for renewable energy investment.

Also mining companies are developing their own powers stations .

Even automatic companies like Ford, Volkswagen, Toyota, Mercedes, BMW are going off grid

In everything. 10yrs ago - our economy was 10 times behind you. Now we are just 3 times behind you. If you dont grow the next decade as it appears very very likely - and we tripple our economy - as it appear very plausible - we will be nearly at same place - of 300-400B dollar.

You're about 10yrs early; Yes Nairobi is not at Joburg level but in about 10 max 15yrs - it will not only have matched it - but have overtaken it. There are few areas Nairobi need to work on - and it's working on.

Nairobi is a big construction site. Other kenya cities are also rapidly expanding.
The only reason I engage you you are sensible and respectful.

So somehow you believe Johannesburg is not doing that, I just told you of 20 city developments under way, but for some odd reason you think it's not construction or development.

Very Funny.

The reason you all think Nairobi is making huge strides its because yall developing a 27km road along the main highway in Nairobi. In SA when a big construction happens it does not really disturb the entire city we mover outwards of the city.

Lanseria New smart city construction won't disturb traffic of daily live in people nearby in Sandton forways or randburg.

We are doing more than 27km expressway road - we are building shopping malls (I check your list -some of them- and they mostly mall developments) - we are building mini cities that are truly big - we are building skyscrappers - we are building gazillion apartments - we are building roads, brt, improving our railway - improving non motorized roads - we are building factories and warehouse -

Nairobi growth is pretty impressive - and world has started to take note.

The United States joined Britain, France, Germany and the European Union on Tuesday in a multi-billion dollar partnership to help South Africa finance a quicker transition from coal, that will provide a model for other countries.

Look for better data. Unlike Nigeria - we do livestock census. We have 27 million goats. We have 17M sheeps. We slaughter 14m - both goats and sheeps. And you're showing thousands figures smiley
https://www.knbs.or.ke/livestock-population/
In fact according to your link, your entire livestock population is a joke.
Give us a data that puts Kenya ahead of Nigeria in anything livestock. And learn to read data, those figures are in tons. wink

When did you last do a animal census. We recently even did one for wild life. Your joke of a country cannot even afford CENSUS. All the OIL. At least Mini Zoo Ghana did a census.

All your agri and livestock data are wild guestimate - rounded numbers - guessed by Nigerian Stats office in Abuja.

BRT Is in smaller towns in SA, heck Soweto, khayelitshaetc has BRT for years now.

You cant seriously tell me you believe Johannesburg is not building gazillion apartments when much smaller cities like rustenburg are developing them at rapid rate. Yes rustenburg is a small city/town in south African standards, even thou it has gdp equal to RWANDA as a country

A year or so we completed a 718km road expansion project, Gues what the was no grand opening or media or government ribbon cutting ceremony

Which list? The Sandton one?

That was few of neighborhoods in Sandton city, yes most of them got malls, but I was highlighting that Sandton is a full city. So you say fourways and thought it a malls list? Fourways is a neighborhood in Sandton with Estates, recidences, malls.

The second list I gave was a list of new cities under construction

Yesss the coal power station is being build in time to aid the current supply while others are coming up.

Yes we are transitioning, that multi-billion is also for helping local economies that depend on coal energy power generation. So they can have a thriving economy after transitioning. With that expect new cities to emerge from that

Coal has powered your electricity, minning and industry - but world is saying - you gotta stop polluting the enviroment - and you need to transition not only to renewable energy but to other stuff like manufacturing. You have to do it faster. That is why you're getting helped.

Forget about cheap power going forward. The money will be used to dismantle coal industry and you will generate renewable electricity which is 10 or even more times expensive than coal.

Coal is really very very cheap.

YouTube comments, really?
@Mtis @Shma

You see the hypocricy?
Whenever your slave @Popzaino posts negative YouTube comments about Ghana you guys rejoice over it.

People's personal opinions cant be taken as the truth.. You see some people even likened Nairobi to a village in the comment section.. (First pic)

Do you guys remember the Facebook screenshot @Popzaino (your slave) posted here sometime ago where a Ghanaian guy *Freemind Family* talked shit about Ghana? that same guy talked shit about nairobi on this YouTube video.
(Second pic)

There are parameters used to compare cities or countries so people's personal opinions on social media can't be absolute.
