20% of 40k is 8k not 10k

A welcome development but still not enough.

Has anyone ever noticed that between ore and Benin expressway, there’s over 50 police check points that has rendered a one hour journey to a normal 3-4 hrs journey? I doubt even this new salary structure will make them leave because of he money they make on that road every day

May I remind you that the mininum wage in the country is 30k and there are married men with same qualifications as a constable earning that.

The problem with the Police is not the salary in particular. It is the deep rooted culture of corruption, lack of transparency and accountability. Increasing salaries by 100% will not solve that problem.

Police should earn better salary : I guess so

Just imagine, the insignificant increments they blowing trumpet for. The last salary increase for police was done about 10yrs ago. You increasing someone salary with 8k(20%)with 10years interval shouldn't be celebrated.
I was expecting at least 60-70% increments.
Custom service got their salary increased by over 100% last year, what stops police from getting similar increments.

One is to approve the new salary structure, the other is for it to get to the officers.
Most times the junior officers do not see these changes due to some secret fraudulent power play going on in the force. These men are so powerful that they can do anything and go scot free.
I just pray that this time the story would be different.

only a half learned person feels excited over this. Calculate 20% increase in 40k and round it up to the nearest tens. What's your answer?
