Why don't the players just get vaccinated?? Surely, if all the players and staff get vaccinated, even though they're infected, it's no big deal. And more so, this covid19 just seems way overblown.

I mean, we In Africa should know better, Ebola, polio etc were all viruses we got to see the dangerous effects of but it's fair to say COVID is not nearly as deadly as these. Isn't it also noteworthy that the side effects of the vaccine has a higher chance of killing one than the virus itself. This is actually a fact oo.

Vaccine was always going to be seasonal that you take every few months just like flu vaccine

We will live with Covid like flu eventually. When your body has been getting used to a disease, whether via vaccine or infection, it should carry little fear cos your body can deal with it. It's like Naija man catching malaria, his body is used to dealing with it, but if white man catch malaria, it's 50/50 that he could die.

All these for a virus that has a less than 2% mortality rate. You have an extremely high chance of surviving this naturally than even having cold.

If they told you vaccine would only last a few months initially, would you have taken it? It's not Govt job to give you the full picture, if the full picture will lead to public health consequences such as low uptake of vaccine. If you are smart enough, you should be able to put 2 and 2 together to know what the facts are, and why Govts give the kind of messaging they do. It's not a lie, it's Govt acting in the best interest of the whole population. Don't be like the GQP people who take anything they can't understand as Govt lying to them.

I said here that any vaccine will only last few months and would need to be taken frequently. Coronaviruses do not stay in one place, they mutate frequently, that's why we have a new flu vaccine every winter (Flu is a coronavirus). So nobody should have expected lifetime vaccine.

This vaccine will be a yearly vaccine as antibodies deplete after a few months. My friend who had Covid will be going for her 9 month antibody test soon. She still had antibodies after 6 months, although another colleague who had a mild version of Covid lost his antibodies after 6 months.

I don't know whether Nigeria will be able to afford yearly innoculations. We are not used to organising seasonal vaccination unlike say the UK that organises yearly flu jab and will just add SARS-COV2 vaccine into the flu jab eventually. Na to pray for Bill Gates to sponsor remain.

Do you know how much some Local Pharmacies in developed countries make everyday Via Tests. Laboratories, Pharmaceutical companies have raised their revenues/profits by 1000% Covid is not ending soon

It's my understanding that immunization is different from vaccination.
Immunization seems to be lifetime while vaccination is periodical.

OK, I get it, but the government (or WHO.)should let people be aware of this and take the bold step and tell us the truth that vaccination or no vaccination will not stop u from contracting the virus.

OK, I get it, but the government (or W.H.O.)should take the bold step and tell us the truth that vaccination or no vaccination will not stop u from contracting the virus.

It will but it has time limit. And if you catch it, you'll likely fare better. If they do what you suggested above, it will be a disaster. Vaccine has saved many lives, especially old people. They have done their job.

They don't tell old people twice to line up for Flu vaccine every winter in UK. When you see your age mates dying of common flu, you will not think twice of returning for vaccine every year. Some even still catch flu that same winter. There's a cultural difference between young people and old people as regards expectations from vaccine and difference between countries used to dealing with flu and those who don't have flu. Old people are not questioning the covid booster shot in UK, they are lining up 1 million a day for booster shot. They were dying like fowl before, then stopped dying after the first round of vaccine. Dem no go tell them twice.

2022 could be very very tricky....governments and scientists are up to strange tinz...I won't be surprised if there's another lockdown next year...though it will be shorter than dat of 2020
