Hello Tech gurus! There's this software I want to download to enable me run analysis for my thesis. In the process of doing so, I was made to understand that my Laptop is not compatible since it's a 32 bit system while the software requires a 64 bit system. For this reason, I am thinking of getting another system soon but don't want to make a mistake as I have little knowledge in that regard. My current laptop is HP Compaq. My question is: How do I know a 64 bit system? What could be responsible for my current system being so slow? Thanks gurus as I await your response. 1 Like |

format ur system n load 64bit windows on it or partition the system n load 64bit on the new space |

EGBEDA101:nothing like that. Reinstall the operating system.my system came with 32 bit,I upgraded it to 62. |

@squash,some systems can not run 64 bit operating system architecture. 1 Like |

All laptops supports 64bit architecture, except very old outdated laptops and some mini laptops, could even be recent |

Upgrading your laptop to 64bit architecture is not enough. Check for other requirements for the thesis software in question like ram size, processor type and speed, vram etc. Cheers! |
