Exactly bro. South Korea for instance have no resources but they advanced because of technology transfer. Singapore as well is advancing due to contact with the western world. Investment, self discovery, and technology transfer from the West ( who were first clearly ahead of all societies in what we have come to know as modern technology) are all a country needs to develop. As always looking for the lamest excuse. My friend in the entire East Coast of Africa - Kenya has done well - despite it's situation. There is nothing about Europeans or Indians being responsible for our growth. Europeans were deep in West Africa longer. You're located close to western Europe and US. You have minerals that bring in money. You have large arable land. If you check at independence - Kenya economy was 0.7B dollars..Ghana was 1.2B...Nigeria was big.. literally controlling the palm oil industry. Kenya was one loss making colonies of the UK.

Dont look for lame excuse. Ask us how we have done better than you despite zero minerals.

1) Leadership. Unlike many of Africa countries, we have remain peaceful, mostly democratic and invested in better leadership. It not possible that we will elect Buhari idiot in Kenya this century.

2) We invested heavily in educating our people. The British had left us with South Africa like apartheid - a school system designed to fail Africans - and after independence - we double down on education. There is no doubt that historical our education standards have been very high and we have Africa best HCIs. At some point we had one world highest expenditure on education.

3) We avoided disastrous economic policies like communism - and adopted capitalism. Our private sector is very strong. We have Africa biggest and 7th world largest - this one key pillars of kenya economy.

So Western World is a magic wand? Why isn't Mexico or part of Eastern Europe developed. Dont think there is short cut to development. Countries that have developed have worked incredibly hard, smart and made it happened. If it was simple - other countries would have done it.

But no one here will approach you speaking English untill they realize that you can't speak any Ghanaian language...

Our language comes first before English.

So of you come to Ghana, you should be able to have basic twi skills for communication

If the petty Tanzanians had not stimmed East Africa federation - it would be far ahead of even EU. First they killed EAC in 1977 with their petty squabbles with Kenya and wars with Uganda. Now after being re-introduced -and despite Arusha being in TZ - they continue to block integrations.

As of now - Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda are far ahead - in creating a single political federation.

Now DRC Congo has joined - and hopefully it will neutralize Tanzanian nonsense. I dont see much hope in Ghana led Africa Free Trade Area - it seems to be dead on arrival.

We speak English well.
We speak Swahili very well
We speak our native languages - the 44 of them.
We even have new language - Sheng...Swahili English.

Officially we recongise English and Swahili as official languages.
We teach Swahili all the way to university.
It compulsory all the way to end of high school.

We teach native language to lower primary.

This article 7 of Kenya Constitution.

DRC Joins EAC. Hopefully they are serious and will follow EAC protocols and regulations. They have seen SADC was going nowhere with insular South Africa shirking their regional responsibility and retreating home.

I wish TZ can be expelled from EAC and HQ shifted to Uganda.
