Rawlin Lee Tate Jr., has been celebrated as one of the many students who made blacks proud in the past few years, Siggy reveals.

In a report by BlackNews.com, it was revealed that Rawlin, an 18-year old teen from Georgia, has made history as the first Black male valedictorian in his high school. More than that, he has secured over $1.2 million in college scholarships.

Rawlin had in a viral tweet, listed his academic accomplishments which include having a 4.7 GPA, being at the top of the class for 7 years, and being a Georgia scholar. He also took 21 AP courses and he never got any grade lower than 98.

His partly tweet reads:

1. First African American male Valedictorian in Woodland History
2. “4.7 GPA I just secured the bag”
3. #1 of my class for 7 years STRAIGHT
4. A Georgia Scholar
5. Over 1.2 million dollars in scholarships
6. 14 college acceptances

11. A member of 7 national honor societies
12. Woodland High best all around senior
13. Atlanta Journal Constitution best all around senior
14. Most improved percussionist (drumline)
15. Concert pianist
16. District Honor Band Oboist
17. All State audition for oboe
18. Department award for AP Literature
19. Passed 4 AP Exams
20. Academic Excellence (4 years)
21. Member of 2 varsity sports
22. Recording Artist (Mercenary)
23. Dowdy Scholar (Full Academic Scholarship @ncatsuaggies)
24. $2500 band scholarship per year

Praising God for his achievements, Tate said: “None of this would be possible without God….. so yeah gotta give him the credit. My advice to others is to always stay humble and do your best, and don’t get preoccupied with competing".

If na here in Nigeria they would already brand him as a tout cos of his hair. But that hair carry brain pass the one wey Bihari they cover with cap.

In some schools you lose CGPA points for "trivial" things like absenteeism, non participation in sports/social activities.

Oh. Okay. That's true, including not attending gym. Watched it a lot on TV. Why can't they something like that in Nigeria too. But they shouldn't affect grades bit you must do/pass them to graduate just like GST/GAS courses
