Yesterday in my community, USA based diasporans sponsored medical outreach in my community..

A businessman who swindles his customers and hikes prices won't admit he is a fraudster but will quickly point accusing fingers at a politician who steals public funds..

This December.. all commercial vehicles and tricycle in my village hiked prices by 200% despite fuel not decreasing..
But they castigate the gorvenment and yahoo boys as if If it was them they wouldn't do worse..

This instinct to defend a particular social vice with another social vice. It makes no sense.

It's just like an agbero stealing my phone on the road, he's caught and beaten there and then and people start saying, "let him go". What about the politicians that steal money? What does politician stealing money have to do with this criminal stealing my phone?

We are talking about cybercrime here and people are going on whataboutism. What about the bribery and corruption?, what about the nepotism? What about the kidnappings?

All these are social vices which we should all be against. This nascent mentality of "don't judge me when you too are bad" is abhorrent.
