Wrong analysis, how can you use musical videos published in 2017 to compare with that published in 2020? I don't understand.

If Naija artistes are as big as they claim to be, why are their video views so low grin grin

Compare these figures to the billions for Drake, Ed Sheeran, Bieber etc. Naija artistes are small boys abeg. Small hug or chat from any foreign celeb they hype it like anything. Beggars.
And one is claiming Gaint of Africa..with 242million views grin

Lol that African giant album was crazy.....

I feel that was the peak of his career (hope I'm wrong)....man was literally dropping classic songs that took afrobeats to another dimension.....

All these comparisons don't add up. We're not there yet. We're simply coming up. They, the Americans, have the foundation properly layed for them, we're trying to lay one.

The most successful industry in Nigeria at the moment remains the music industry. They should be encouraged.

American music has dominated the world long before YouTube. YouTube is only extension of what they've done offline already.

The little wins Nigerians are making in the industry is something to be happy with. It's a positive sign of progress. No need comparing them with their great grandfather in the industry.

Na so. Once a Nigerian achieves something, it becomes rubbish.
200 million views is now too small. They won Grammy, it also became rubbish.
Did any of them claim to be the greatest artist in the world?

Shut up.

If you had sense, you would have compared the internet penetration in Europe and America with Africa before making such stupid comparison.

Inferiority complex.

The problem is that they are now projecting their inferiority complex on their fellow citizens.

That guy would never have believed Ed Sheeran would sing Peru.

Inferior people.

I'm talking about Naija artistes being small globally. If they are well-known abroad as they claim, why aren't the foreigners viewing their videos like they do to their Biebers, Sheerans and co??

200 million views is too small for any artiste claiming to be big globally.

200 million views is for regional stars so tell your local champions to lower their voice.

Can you compare the internet penetration in America and Europe with Africa?

How many Nigerians or Africans stream on YouTube?

Sinach is popular as any global gospel musician in the world, and waymaker was sang in every corner of the world with different versions here and there.

Yet it did not get to 200 million views.

The problem is not the artist or the quality of the music.

Their primary market which is Africa, does not have a deep internet penetration.

Compare that to Hillsong of Australia.

Any average song from Hillsong gets to 200 million in a month or so.
