The major reason for the social dislocation and extreme poverty in the north is the insane desire of their ruling political, military and clerical elite to control power at the centre from the mid 60s to date! They have enthroned the political-economy that’s been in place for the entire period in question, so they have no one else to blame but themselves!

See how they ganged up to remove GEJ from office due to this lust for power....now look where it’s gotten them! Can the average northerner say his fortunes have improved because they‘ve ‘controlled’ things from 2015 to date!?

The northerners are their biggest problem (both the leaders and the led)....they’re just too clever by half and see power at the centre as an end in itself rather than a means to an end!
