Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku, on Sunday changed his social media bio to list his former club Inter Milan instead of the Premier League side.

This comes after Lukaku was dropped from the Blues’ squad for the Liverpool game on Sunday.

The 28-year-old in an interview aired this week claimed he was “unhappy” at Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku also said he was not pleased with Thomas Tuchel’s tactics and was eyeing a return to Inter.

He said: “Physically I am fine. But I’m not happy with the situation at Chelsea. Tuchel has chosen to play with another system.

“I won’t give up, I’ll be professional. I am not happy with the situation but I am professional – and I can’t give up now.”

As a chelsea fan, this is the biggest disrespect I've seen from a player since that snake Courtois! Mariana should offload him to inter for whatever price they're willing to pay.
Always blaming tuchels tactics, when it's obvious he is the one that needs to work on his poor touches and finishing!

The big news an hour earlier than that controversial incident was a team announcement missing Romelu Lukaku.

Pre kick-off Tuchel explained he had left the striker out due to ‘too much noise’ around the reporting of an interview the striker had given to Italian TV, which was distracting from the focus on the Liverpool game.

‘It is not Chelsea-like but it's also not the worst thing in the world and it's not the first time that an interview out there causes some noise that nobody needs,’ Tuchel added after the game.

‘I don't feel personally attacked. I don't feel personally angry but the noise was too big on Friday. We took the decision to delay the decision, also to protect Romelu from a rash decision, because we need to speak, we need to read the full interview, to stay calm and not lose our head. It was simply the decision to protect the preparation for a match like this. So it was clear he will not be in the squad, he will not play, and from there on there was a bit more focus to play a match like this.’

Manager and player now have a Monday meeting to discuss the matter further, with our next game versus Tottenham in a cup match coming quickly on Wednesday.

‘We need to evaluate the situation and not listen to the media and not listen to the pressure but understand what he said, which is why there is the meeting tomorrow,’ Tuchel reported.

‘From there we will take the decision. If the decision is he is good to go for Wednesday, this is the decision, but I cannot tell you right now because we need to talk and understand the situation better and then from there we go once the situation is clear. There is no doubt he will stay our player and we will also protect our player.’

Lukaku is not thinking about quitting Chelsea now and sources said there was “zero chance” of a reunion with Inter in January. The forward revealed that he had turned down an offer from Manchester City in 2020 and, when Inter rejected his request for a new contract last summer, decided that Chelsea were the only team he would contemplate joining.

Nonetheless the interview has irritated Tuchel, whose problems increased after Reece James was ruled out for at least two months with a torn hamstring. James’s absence could prompt Chelsea to try to sign Kieran Trippier, who wants to return to the Premier League from Atlético Madrid and is being pursued by Newcastle.

Tuchel would not confirm whether Lukaku would face disciplinary action and said the 28-year-old had hurt Chelsea’s focus before they try to revive their ailing title challenge by beating Liverpool on Sunday.

“We don’t like it,” Tuchel said. “It brings noise that we don’t need and it’s not helpful. We don’t want to make more out of it than it actually is. It is easy to take lines out of context, shorten lines, make headlines and then realise later that it is not so bad. We need a calm environment and focus and this does not help.”
