Chanter! To add to the previous question, Do you think the growth rate matters at this rate?
Take these aspects:
Economy
Infrastructure
Sports.

Cos you clearly brought out the time difference between Nigeria and SA development, and now, both SA and Nigeria are growing at a very insignificant rate possible - is there any possibility of catching up in terms of development?

come on! Buhari is a nobody as far as Africa is concerned. Your country is rag-tag because of an illiterate president like Buhari. In total wealth? Buhari is nowhere. progress? nearly zero.

Do you know what Nigeria is on the continent? Yes, a zoo and a poverty capital. We can't overlook the positive side; talk of good music and banking sector driven by huge population.

Growth: Nigeria is growing at an insignificant rate. while Kenya is growing at a whopping 9.9%, your country is doing a mere 3.9%.

In the tech-related sector, you're more or less on a Kenyan level. Most of your tech companies don't thrive in Kenya.
Stop making noise olodo,Buhari is one of the most powerful president on the continent and in the world.pls google that taahira.

when it's positive....... It's driven by huge population, but not when it's negative.

Little did the idiot know that it's d same population, either positive or negative that affects kenya, like all counties all over.

Talk of double standard.
Double standard much.

Richest presidents?
Really? Is that how you count influence?

Is Biden a rich president?
I don't want my president to be rich.
He is a civil servant.

The power of a president is derived from the power of its country.

If Nigeria is rag tag, then Kenya is non-existent.
Apart from Nairobi which doubles as your capital, there is no other notable commercial city in Kenya.
Don't mention Mombasa. I don't rate it.

No wonder your entire productivity is less than that of lagos State alone.

Nigeria is a manufacturing giant, Nigeria is a financial giant, Nigeria is an agricultural giant, Nigeria is an entertainment giant, Nigeria is an oil giant.

The cummulative sum of these industries is what makes our GDP the highest in Africa.

Kenya growth is 7-8% of GDP which is tiny.
Your GDP is small in the first place, so 8% of the Kenyan GDP is Peanuts.

Tiny GDPs tends to have greater growth percentage because the economy is small in the first place.
So there is a greater tendency for growth.

Compare that to Nigeria's GDP.
3% of Nigeria's GDP is huge.

We should do better, but the mathematics still has to be said.

3% of Nigeria's GDP is greater than 8% of Kenya's GDP in dollar terms.

Andela is a Nigerian tech company.
Employs thousands of kenyan software engineers and others all across Africa.

Nigeria has two tech companies entering unicorn status just this year alone, which mean they are now worth a billion dollars.
Just this year alone.

Flutterwave and Opay.

Apart from Mpesa which is only domiciled in Eastern Africa, there is no Kenyan company worth a billion dollars.

Your economy does not reflect facts on the ground. It's crystal clear that your figures are inflated. Look at SA, for instance? Far more developed than Nigeria, but the SA economy is playing a catch-up game with you - can you explain?
You are making noise, our economy is relevant and it’s speaks for itself.just take a look sucker.

if u say our figures don't reflect, it's ur own gourd of palmwine.

SA and Nigeria have different history. SA has been developing even before Nigeria gained her independence. SA has been d largest economy for over a hundred years in d continent.

SA was among the nations that formed UN in 1945 or so and also among the first nations that went for Olympics in 1904, just after 2 tournaments ( where were d remaining African nations then?).That's to show u how far SA has been in d comity of nations. While NY had skyscraper boom in the 1930s, jobourg had its own in the 1980s. And it's only when an economy is booming at an astronomical rate does skyscraper boom happens in a nation. Nigeria in the 1980s was still in military quagmire. Abeg, we have different history and development stride.

I just laugh when I see dumbos like rvp and u lots compare SA with many African countries. wink
That one na mumu, rvp uncontrolled ranting is the standard of their intellectual argument.

Nice analysis. This is what samboro's puny brain failed to decompound.

Your point holds a lot of water. But then again,
infrastructure is widely recognized as a key ingredient in a country’s economic success, do you think Nigeria's economy can attest to this fact? Being one of the grand economies in Africa, you should be able to tell us how your economy is reflecting on the basics - your economy and infrastructure does not in anyway match.

Another quick question, Do you think Nigeria will still remain dominant in that position? Consider the fact that Nigeria’s economy entered a recession on a slight aspect of a fall in crude oil prices on account of falling global demand - I believe crude oil is part of the history behind your economy hike.
Lol don’t taint my na.me with your stupidity. All that he said is common knowledge to even rvp who constantly lives in denial to win an argument.I am not surprised you just learnt this. SA was long developed, and was among the few countries that had infrastructural boom in the 20th century alongside with America.little wonder why they aren’ t so much difference between SA and the US. Similar city planning, architecture, roads and rail roadmap/masterplan ,just to mention a few.

yes, economy and infrastructure goes hand-in-hand and it's like a case of hen and egg, which comes first?

Without a solid economy, there won't be funds to build infrastructures neither will lenders lend to an ailing economy. Without infrastructures too, economy won't grow fast. So, it's all about the path a country chooses first and in most cases, nations tend to build an economy base that needs minimal infrastructures before building grand infrastructures for rapid economic growth.

In Nigeria's case, I don't think it's different from most African countries bar SA when it comes to infrastructures matching with economy. U can be bias towards kenya, it's still ur pot of hot soup.

Nigeria went into recession when oil went south, even countries that are not oil dependent econonies went south too, that 2016 recession was a global phenomenon. Oil prices is still down but Nigeria is no longer in recession, albeit having a slow economic growth. So, oil is part of Nigeria's economy but it's dwindling very fast among the GDP generators.

I believe Nigeria's economy will still remain dominant for a foreseeable future irrespective d hitch.

One wishes all African leaders would be taken to RWANDA AND BE WHIPPED BY KAGAME

Parts of Kigali are cleaner, greener and more decent than many developed cities.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Imw7VJBjIiE
Brother you shouldn't fall for this scam. My friend was in Kigali from September to mid December 2021and he had a lot of negative things to say about Rwanda.

Those guys actually heavily fine beggars...they must not be spotted any where within Kigali.

Most of the citizens are poor and most things were outrageously expensive. Just be prepared to spend double and sometimes triple of whatever you want to buy.

Rent is very exorbitant. And not worth the price.

They basically milk foreigners to their last dime so you really need to have a lot of money on you. As a foreigner you pay double the price of any thing.

The Rwanda beyond Kigali is basically a village. My friend saw all these himself.

3G experience was very depressing for him and 4G was underwhelming. Cost of data was also high.
The mosquitoes of Kigali are also very ruthless. Emphasis on ruthless.

One major upside for Him was the express licence to smash sexy girls once they found out you were Nigerian. ( Partly because of the money a Nigerian takes to Kigali and partly due to the access to free WiFi in his apartment).

You can't really speak against Kagame too. Kigali is heavily policed also.
Their nation is in debt as well.

Might be good for vacations but don't try to compare countries like Nigeria and Kenya to Rwanda.

Mr, I'm giving you raw facts. Facts that are not sugar-coated or salt-coated. Buhari is a nobody, And you know that.

What has Buhari done for your country? Nothing. Your country is in a taterdemalion state - rotting and stinking to the high heaven. A perfect leader should build a country, not destroy it.

Secondly, the numbers at hand is not the bone of contention. we're discussing your cooked figures. Your state economy at max should be $200 b, forget about $400b that your govnt lied to you.

Again, facts will set you free. you know very well Nigeria is a failed state. how can you equate it with a progressive country like Kenya?

For starters - with no mineral, and with the dismal economy, we've one of the biggest seaports in Africa- not comparable to anything in Nigeria, of course SA and Egypt can have a say.

We have the best airport in Africa outside bole and SA airline. Your failed state, which supposedly should be having the brand logo of the airline is busy holding the title for the biggest open defecation center in the world.

Should I mention the best City in Africa?

Should I mention the biggest shipyard outside Egypt and SA?

HDI is the best yardstick to measure a country's prowess. Your country is nowhere when Hdi is something to go by.

Mpesa stretches all the way to India. Get your facts right. cool
