Every negative vice from endemic corruption, ritual killing and abuse of power is prevalent. While we lay the blame today on the Saraki's, Peter Obi's, Tinubu's, Atiku's, Ibori's, El-Rufai's, Odili's, Alaibe's,Ganduje's etc for failing the country.

The blame should lie in the leaders that ruled before them that failed to instil the proper values and necessary checks and balances to create strong institutions. Presently, the Nigeria we live in certain individuals are more powerful than state institutions.

If we had got it right in the 70's and 80's and the proper values were instituted, Nigeria would have had the same kind of infrastructural development and strong institutions like Algeria, Morocco and South Africa.

More than any past president or Head of State before him:
General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) actually made corruption an official institution of the Nigerian society and economy.
The rest after him kept following suit.

We still had time to get it right after they left. The politicians were acting like they presently were in the 60's.

Without prejudice or sentiment,
Corruption started to gain momentum in Nigeria during the tenure of Shagari. Himself the likes of Umaru Dikko, Akinjide etc can't be cleared of corruption.

1000, 500 was a slang of their lavish lifestyle then for who remember.

This is one of the reason general Buhari overthrow their government.
Buhari's government WAS NEVER CORRUPT

Another notable corrupt leader is the evil genius, he made corruption an identity. Abacha can't also be forgotten.

How can you say Buhari government was never corrupt in the 80's and is now one of the corrupt government the world has ever seen.
Buhari the same man that said Abacha never stole, and campaigned for Abacha money launderer Baguje and Ganduje who was caught on tape collecting $5 million dollar bribes?

Bubu gave Shagari house arrest but threw Ekwueme in prison, that's corruption. Also 2.7 billion naira disappeared from his ministry when he was petroleum minister. Under ptf, 25 billion went missing. He said Abacha never stole but recovering Abacha loot

Shagari's house arrest and Ekueme's jail can't be a corruption.

Was that during Buhari/Idiagbon tenure? NO.

The missing money during his Ministerial tenure is still acclaimed. Not traced to anyone yet. I personally would love it enquired
