How can small bank - GTB - buy a big bank like Equity smiley - Equity I bet by now has overtaken GTB. Concentrate on fixing the cash shortage in your crazy zoo - where people go to the bank and there is no money smiley. Never happened in Kenya unless those small banks that collapses.

I think it is high time we nigerians concentrate on our country instead of concentrating on buying debt from other African countries

Wrong. Kenya annual cement consumption now is about 8M. Nigeria is 18-21M. Dont confuse INSTALLED CAPACITY with what is produced and consumed.
68816419:

U aint intelligent at all, our cement consumption and production is 17 times larger and bigger than yours, Kenya Cement producers recorded a 28% year-on-year increase in production in the first five months of 2021 to 3.35Mt from 2.65Mt while Nigeria Local cement production was 47.8 million tonnes now hit 53.8mtpa by 2021

You won't normally dignify because you have no retort to what I said.

Everything I stated is facts while everything you state are half-truths and fantasies powered by jealousy and lack of self confidence.

rvp2018:
I would not normally dignify such nonsense with a response but hey Nigeria is WORLD POVERTY CAPITAL having overtaken India...now with 100M poor people. That is like entire East Africa.

Entire operation is run by Indians. You dont expect someone who was selling salt to understand manufacturing.
Sorry, there are a few top Indian leaders who worked with Dangote since 1992, but entire operation is not run by Indians, try again.

As you lift more billionaires you create businesses, which in turn hire more people.

100m is bad yes but that leaves at least half that are doing well more than the total population of Kenya.

Focus on solving Kenya's massive slum problem and poverty in the north of your country.

About those slums, you think Dangote can spare some millions for Nigerian slum dwellers?

why will anyway sane person want to do coconut farming on the mountains....

Those lands are not suitable for coconut farming ... The person who directed you to Suhum and Nzema did that because those were the best lands for coconut farming...

They are in valleys with fertile soil for coconut.....

Nsawam lands are fertile but not for coconut but Mango, citrus plants and even vegetables because of the high attitude .. they have the weather for those.

There are low lands in Nsawam that supports coconut farming but that is beside the point........Accra would soon merge with Volta region, there are no available lands to buy close to the roads on the stretch from Tema all the way to Dawa. Sooner than later, the expansion will reach Ada were farmers would give up their watermelon and tomatoes farms for buildings. But you don't see any problem there for reasons best known to you.

What difference does it make. Do you think Dangote will give your a ride on his private jet because you're black...or he will give his Indian executives. The entire Dangote operation is run by Indians.

Give me an ethical indian like Chandaria ANY DAY ANY TIME.

Chandaria basically run you steel industry and you wont even know it because he is humble

Lmao! grin

Again use this your powers to debate intellectually how to get rid of your slums instead of constituting a nuisance on a Nigerian platform.

Must you always have to lie just to try to compete ?

KPC is currently in talks with Kenya’s Ministry of Energy to put up a dedicated LPG storage facility with an initial capacity of 25,000 tones.

Your entire kipevu has just a 100,000 metric tonnes capacity...

The old facility had just a 35,000 metric tonnes capacity and now it has been doubled to 70,000 metric tonnes but your video said it's 100,000 metric tonnes so it give you that...

Even one of the smallest terminal like quantum gas have more than half that capacity...

BOST has more than twice that capacity in Accra...

Tema oil Refinery Jetty has 60 times that capacity.

VRA jetty has more than 100 times that capacity

The new Takoradi oil Jetty has more than that

If I continue listing all the companies with more than this capacity... I will fill this page.

Combine Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda energy consumption together and it will still not come close to the amount of energy consumed in Ghana.. (note: I'm not talking about electricity).
It just makes sense that Ghana has more than you grin

There is a message to the Ghanaians and Kenya. The age of gas petrol and diesel is over we are now going into the renewable energy in chi do you know Volvo from here to 2025 all their cars will be electric including trucks. Do you no VW former 2028 all their cars and trucks will be electric and battery. I think it is high time we move away from Nigerians mentality of building oil refineries and gas and start thinking about the future. I just laugh to myself when I see a lot of African countries investing in oil when in another ten years they'll be nothing to use the oil on

What does the colour of owners matters. What matters is me buying cement at 450 and you at 1200. Bring me more indians, chinese and even aliens from another planet...and keep your dangote.

Apart from a foolish pride that a fellow black Nigerian is billionaire - how do you BENEFIT? Maybe you have low self esteem - but people sucess will never fill the void.

Obaboon, Let me know if you have a problem reading that last year graph (they improved 3 positions last year alone). By this year - Equity has gone above GTB - their expansion in DRC already overtaking Kenya. They literally hit a jackpot in DRC. 5yrs from now - Zenith and First Bank of Nigeria - will be seeing Equity Bank from behind.

Helios Partners are arguably the most stupid investors in entire planet - for selling 24 percent of Equity for Kenya Telkom smiley smiley smiley

https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/bd/corporate/companies/equity-sees-its-drc-business-overtake-kenya-unit-3458074
WHAT IS THE PLACE OF DRC BUSINESS IN EQUITY GROUP?

In DRC, we seem to have really touched a juggler pipe that will change this group forever.

DRC business will fundamentally change Equity Group. DRC at the moment contributes 27 percent of the group balance sheet and is growing at about 60 percent annually and may overtake Kenya between the third and fifth year
.

Even in profitability, DRC will start rivalling Kenya and rise above on profits and balance sheet size eventually.

DRC has quickly made us a market leader in financial services both in balance sheet and profitability as well as customer base.

Given the momentum of growth in DRC, the possibility of standing out and becoming more attractive is so near. Equity should now be trading at the same rate as Capitec Bank of South Africa.
