I don't even know the right section to post this. I visited a site yesterday evening. It was around past seven, so it was a bit dark.

We were on our way out when one of us who was at the front sighted this creepy thing. He ran back immediately but to my surprise, this dangerous thing didn't move.

Las, Las, Sha, the man hit it with a plank and it took about 10 to 15mins before it finally gave up the ghost

Please, is this not gabion viper? I had it's very aggressive, hence it didn't bulge to move when we sighted it and raised alarm.

Which specie of snake is this please?

I don't think that's a Gaboon Viper.

Gaboon Vipers are not aggressive even though they are highly venomous. They are known to be very sluggish and can stay motionless for a long time.
