I don't like the sight of Fati as a No 9 as it appeared so at some point yesterday. All in all it was a great game and I think Xavi is building something and with time it'll yield result.

Yeahh I agree with you. We have alot of wingers but it is for the best. We can begin to play the fluid system employed by ManCity. City attackers constantly change position while someone occupies the false nine.
Though specialised wingers like Mahrez and Sterling always tend to occupy the width.

In our case Dembele and Abde, who are the specialised wingers in the team can continue to occupy the wings to stretch the width while Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati, Ferran Tjgula and Depay can come inside. Braithwaite (when fit) and Luuk de Jong can operate from the no9 perspective.

Honestly, I like the options we have upfront. Yesterday, people like Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres and Memphis Depay all lacked rhythm because they have been out for a long time. So the sharpness wasn't there. Torres scoffed a weak shot, following an excellent Dembele cross when an inform striker would have released an unstoppable volley to the back of the net.

Pedri on his own, didn't show any rustiness at all. That boy continued to show he is a level above the likes of Gavi and all pretenders who play at our attacking midfield position. Pedri's introduction at the break almost swung the match in our favour. We had Real backline on the ropes for much of the hour.

I just hope Xavi knows exactly what he's doing and we have a team on our hands for next season.

Yes of course, I agree with you. Lol everyone knew me as a Puig hater but I must say that the vengeful Koeman was all part of the problem here. He alienated the boy. He could have given his some play time and alternated him with Pedri, even when our need was dire but he chose to isolate him to the bench. Now, Puig is struggling for rhythm and more importantly, confidence. And it shows everytime he steps on the pitch.

Football needs continuity, just like every other skill. The more you do it, the better you get.
