Just checkout the victims of these silly Frauds they are usually from the analog generation.

They believe almost anyone who looks or appears responsible, basically confidence men (con men).
The con men fool them with pictures and documents. Some of these victims are even unaware of Photoshop.

Greed then comes in, the Conman will make the scam seem like confidential business to the victim, who doesn't want to lose such juicy insider opportunity. So they don't tell anyone who would have likely exposed the fraud.

Reminds me of the case of one billionaire that was robbed and killed because he went alone to conduct business with some people in a hotel. Unknown to him, they were scammers and criminals
