Lol... I'm not big on football, but out of curiosity, why do people call out this tournament for having less number of goals when compared to others? Doesn't that mean that the teams are fairly equal (either generally good, generally average or generally bad)? Would it really have been more interesting if we had matches with predictable outcomes where some teams just keep dishing out goals? I actually don't see the fun in that.

We may not like the way these guys play but I don't think the number of goals is the correct yardstick to express that distaste; there are other factors. I'm almost certain if African matches had scores like 6-0, 5-0 7-1, etc. while European matches had 1-1, 2-1, 1-0, etc., people would still be calling out Africa for having boring predictable matches where goals no longer have value.

Boring tournament, maybe. But certainly not because of the number of goals.
