Both Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto'o are African football greats who represented different top clubs in the European leagues and achieved massive success and legendary status while bagging many trophies and medals.

Didier Drogba is a legend at Stamford Bridge having guided Chelsea to their first ever UEFA Champions League title in 2012. He was a powerful striker and he was a popular figure for the blues and was nicknamed "The Drug"


Samuel Eto'o had a successful stint with FC Barcelona amd Inter Milan. He also came to England to ply his trade with Chelsea in his later years. He was a top-notch striker who scored many memorable goals for club and country.
He also guided the Camerounian national team to two AFCON titles.

Let's settle this debate.

French League was a relatively unknown league like La Liga where Eto’o started his career and primed.

Eto did better n lasted longer in his peak, Eto did numbers in barca n still won trophies in inter even wen passed his prime..
Eto once ended 3rd on ballon d or list, did better in Europe, won two ucl n also won countless top scorer awards in AFCON, won African best 4 times, won d cup twice n he is still d highest scoring striker in AFCON n dt record will last longer going by wat am seeing in this AFCON.
drogba was good also but his doinz was more in Chelsea especially dragging DM to dt miraculous ucl finals against Bayern, drogba doinz with his country cnt b compared to Eto even if he also won AFCON bt i dnt remember seeing drogba winning top scorer..
the numbers, achievements, trophies n individual awards favors Eto but both are Africa's best exports, are legends n need more respect n not comparison..

A year in Marseille with 17 goals in 35 appearance isn't substantial in my opinion

Who was better does not necessarily mean who scored more goals. My comment had absolutely nothing to do with who the better player was. Salah may have scored more goals but Drogba's goals won more titles for Chelsea. I am not a Chelsea fan but i watched Drogba saved Chelsea in difficult games like their FA Cup win against Man united in 2007, Brace against Arsenal in Carling Cup final, equalizer against Bayern in 2012 UCL final and even the semis against Barcelona and so many games i can't begin to mention. Eto played for a star studded Barcelona team...... I doubt if Eto would have survived that rigid and highly economical Chelsea team that can hold a one goal lead till the end. This isn't to say Drogba was better but the guy was highly influential.

Samuel Eto'o was a Panther and a fox waeved into one. Drogba was also excellent in his prime but Eto'o remains my greatest African player of all time!

Eto'o is the real goat of African football. Dude won everything. Olympics, Champions league multiple times. Highest goal scorer in AFcon history with 18 goals. 2 afcon titles. Very dangerous in the box. Quick feet. Positions well. Over 400 career goals. Drogba no reach abeggggg

Bro, I think Eto'o was better overall. Of course Drogba was the ultimate clutch big game player with 10 goals in 10 finals. However, Eto'o was no big game slouch either with 2 UCL final goals, an AFCON final goal, several clasico goals against Real Madrid, goals against chelsea, Ac milan, B.munich and Valencia.

Eto was extremely agile, skillful, fast and more technical than Drogba whose only area of advantage over Etoo is heading and raw power. Eto won way more trophies than Drogba at club and international level and scored way more goals and more personal awards.

In short, Drogba was Eto in big games mostly, while Eto was Eto throughout his career.

The real conversation is between George Weah and Eto'o in their prime.
