Some do still look at you as a "bad christian" if you don't tuck one of those voluminous bibles under your arms. If manuscripts and stone tablets/slates were ditched for the more compact paper bibles we have now, I don't see the reason they can't give way to electronic versions of same documents. Development is everything in life, the bible was originally written in scrolls before it developed into the books we know and now we have apps and e-bibles.

Unless you're a worker in your church, I see no pressure in carrying the hardcover or analog bible to church.
You'll find out you might not even have to open your bible these days in church cos even everything is displayed on projections these days in most churches.

So before you judge others,you should judge yourself. To prove you're not ashamed of the gospel, you should actually be carrying the bible scrolls not the book.
