When you are in Brazil you have to behave like a Brazilian and follow the system and I remember how I started with getting credit of **** reais from Banco do Bradesco and thank you Bradesco, they gave me credit when other banks refused so I am grateful and in my opinion, Bradesco is the best bank for foreigners in Brazil.


I applied for credit from different banks when I just arrived then and they did not approve it.


But now my credit score is great and I have been getting approval from banks and even banks are sending me messages offering me credit.


You have to be careful with credit cards because one small mistake and your rating would drop, don't take more than you need.


I was surprised I got an email from a bank that I applied for back then and they approved my credit card but I don't think I need it because I already have enough credit. I don't want to be sucked in again. So when you have a good credit rating, banks would be trying to suck you in.


So my advice is don't take more than you need and always clear your credit on time unless the Interest would be too much for you and once you don't pay back your name would be blacklisted

No the bank would always collect a monthly fee(2500 naira) for you to use the credit card and while some online banks don't collect any monthly fee and re payment would depend where you use your card, in Brazil you can share your payments for more than 12 months

Eg you buy something of 1200 reais you can share it and pay 100 reais monthly for 12 months, so repayment depends on that

Wow , their interest rates & charges must be very exploitational the Brazilian govt should regulate and reign in this industry especially for poor people .Remember this is how the 2008 financial crisis started with exploitational mortgage loans preying on poor borrowers who couldn't afford it...then the enormous crush happened.
