I think the disrespect in Yorubaland and culture is rooted to the poverty that has always been with Yoruba people from history. Even on this forum, we can tell the disrespect coming from you people although it's just a social media, then imagine how your daily lives will look like.

Respect is not lying on the ground. Infact it is disrespect on the older person's side. Respect is reciprocal, so an older person that allow a younger person to soil his clothes in order to show him respect is actually disrespecting the younger person. This is the difference between you people and us.
Our respect swing both ways and we don't use age as an avenue to intimidate and make mockery of our younger ones in the name of respect.
