Yes, we know. That's the same reason why GEJ reversed subsidy removal, and why even tough military rulers like Abacha did not do total subsidy removal At the end of the day it is all about politics, and never about long range planning, and things that would benefit the economy in the long term. Sad to say, but the decision not to remove subsidy is a big mistake that would come to bite us in the a double s in the long run. It has already ruined our four government owned refineries. We better wake up. Either subsidy goes, or we pay for it by taxing everyone at high rate...from the poor beggar to the rich multimillionaire. Or we just keep on taking loans from our new Chinese and IMF masters. |
