Some people are stupid and ignorant to match,
Because Owerri Has beautiful women and plenty of hotels you just assume it's a sex city. Some people are actually just mad.
This is the data of adolescent birth rate from all the 36 states as at 2018, it's just one data but it's enough to tell you Imo is the most decent state in the country

There are far more prostitutes in Abuja than there would ever be in Owerri.

It's actually demand that creates supply. Prostitution is the oldest known industry and in Netherlands, they're recognized by government and they pay tax.
Wealth + male population = prostitution.

You have to be 9 years old to think saying a place has prostitutes is even an insult.

Dumb response. I asked you a simple question. What's the composition of Owerri economy? Answer me
I really wonder if a dunce can comprehend the intrigue in the economy of a certain place, For the posterity's sake, the Owerri economy is hinged on agricultural produce, service economy and manufacturing.

There are far more prostitutes in Lagos than you will ever find in Imo.

When we say prostitutes, we ain't talking about aliens. You can easily find them below...
Jambites
University students
Baby mamas
Single mums
Lonely ladys( whose husbands ain't around)
Company Marketers
Ushers
Protocol officers etc

Its a sign of wealth. There's no non-islamic civilized society that is stressing its self about prostitution. If men have means they will pay girls to have sex. If men don't have means they will go online and complain about prostitution.

Even among islamic societies Dubai's prostitution industry can eclipse Nigeria's oil industry. It's a primitive man that will think you can use prostitution to insult a modern city.

Owerri has several factors that is counting to its advantage.

1. It's strategically located in a central area connecting both SE and SS with major cities like Aba, P.H and Onitsha surrounding it.

2. It has a touristic feel you hardly get elsewhere around, with one of the best nightlife in Nigeria.

3. It is the fastest growing city in Igboland and receives huge diaspora funds/investments.

4. The citizens are enlightened and free spirited.

Contrast that with P.H that is very hostile to investors and now battling with gross environmental pollution. So investors who are wary of all that may consider Owerri as an alternative.

Uyo and Calabar that would have taken prominence are not strategically located, they're at the fringes and has relatively much smaller private sector investments and consumer spending power. While Akwa Ibom state government can easily spend a lot of money on infrastructure and now on industries too, due to a lack of private sector investments, Uyo is still struggling. Calabar on its own has been completely knocked out due to lack of both government and private investments.

Smart investors in Owerri should go into high rise office development in strategic locations and also luxury estates because they're assured of high ROI.
Where do you people normally get this from?

Are you the minister of development and diaspora commission? undecided

This one is 500yrs life span. Can Hope see this thing, our Eastern governors want to save money to build substandard roads, at the end it won't last a month before collapsing. All the money spent doing those roads on each successive Administrations is enough to get us this standard gauged durable road.
Only Umahi had tried done this type of road i the whole SE.

There's no concrete road in Abuja, all asphaltic road, but Abuja has the most durable road in Nigeria.
Rigid pavement is nice, but for it to last you need apply asphalt on top of it, to take care of wearing and tearing of the pavement.

Is Owerri-Orlu road the Orlu urban roads that are all dust and mud, but gov Hope Uzodinma is not addressing?

Don't call me again before Amadioha and Kamalo strike you there.
Orlu-Owerri road also has parts of it in Owerri side.

Good morning from Irete Owerri
Before 2011, this Irete, Umuguma, Naze, and other rural areas near Owerri were rural villages, but Orlu was then a large urban settlement with more than 10 banks and other urban infrastructures in Orlu.
Two governors from Orlu senatorial zone laden with bile reduced Orlu to the same level of other rural LGAs. Nearly all the urban infrastructures in Orlu are today in ruins.
It's a shame to Imo state that some of its people cheer the state governors who keep Owerri alone as the only modern city in Imo state.

My brother, we mistakenly drove through a part of Lagos, one night, few weeks back while trying to beat traffic, trust me, all the times I've spent in Lagos, I NEVER knew there was an area with that huge population of prostitutes who come out at night to stand on the road.

It was funny because I actually thought something was going on ahead of us, until them tell me what's up.

As @Ofodirinwa rightly said, saying a place is full of prostitutes isn't really an insult

Lol, you wan kill Hope? Even travelling through Nigeria, I've only seen this kind of roads twice... The BRT lane in Lagos, from Oshodi, and the express roads being constructed in Lagos by Dangote

I think I once saw a thread where the governor of Abia state did something like this when he just came into office.

Although I think they could go the way of RCC, dig into the ground, then start filling it with "big stones" before finally grading and tarring

On NL, you created a thread asking for Nnamdi Kanu's head - only an Igbo dumbo would do that.

You answer Biafraisdead - did you kill Biafra?

Next time I write, if you reply me or quote me, Amadioha will take over you.
I write for a few who have sense to understand that it's fraud going on in Imo state since 2012 when Owerri and its development process was all that has been going on in the state by two governors from Orlu senatorial zone.
