While borehole drillers were drilling a borehole, a reddish liquid, that looks like blood, was found flowing out of the ground

A driller claimed it is blood!

What could be the cause engineers, geologists, geographers, soil scientists, miners in the house?

Samples should be harvested and taken to the lab for proper testing. Sometimes, you cannot just come to conclusion by merely looking at it.

Either drilling fluid or the layer of soil they are drilling is rich in iron and thereby infested with iron bacteria.

I think iron deposit

The ground is crying blood in protest of the many killings and injustices in the land.

Check well... It may be ultisols soil mixed with water found underneath...

I once found an oil foils, crude oil like on our property well those days ...it came out for weeks and stopped

Now it's clean water

The only way to know for sure is to undertake lab analysis of some samples taken from the well and its immediate environment.

As many have said, Iron is most likely an element in the mix.

From the sounds of the drilling and the video, it is evident the well is quite shallow and in a loose sedimentary area other wise they were still in the weathering.

The drillers spoke yoruba which might mean but not conclusively say it was in the SW part of the country.
