The knowledge, the thought, the consciousness and the imagination of her infidelity stuck like a glue to his mind, refusing to leave. Like a virus, they took control over his system causing him severe restlessness and emotional hurt. The more he thought about it, the more he felt torn apart. The image of it, the imagination of the kisses, the thrusts, the smoachings, the neckings, the crazy and sensual moves, the positions, the moans, the touches all sent shivers down his system. His neuro electric system sending out shocks. He couldn't even begin to comprehend the reality of that, but alas, it was real. Angela, his Angela, gave her body, his body willingly to another man. The mere thought of that makes him insane. The claim that the act was done unintentionally, in a drunken state doesn't sit well with him. Is she trying to say that whenever she's drunk, she sleeps with men? And to think she thinks he will believe that is laughable. Common, who believes that? Does she take him for a fool? A mugu? He knows this is or may not be her first, she has or probably has been doing it while decieving him with the impression that she loves him and is faithful to him. He felt played. But why did she reveal it to him? Why didn't she conceal it? Maybe she's truly sorry and remorseful for her act(s), if that's the case, forgiving her is plausible. Common, it takes courage, remorse, love and repentance to do what she did, but what if she didn't do it because of that? What if she confessed because the situation got messy or because she was threatened or blackmailed? Who knows. Angela is capable of shits. This is a game, and if there's one thing Angela is good at, is being a good gamer, a very good one. The more he thinks about this, the more confused, mad, sad and disgusted he gets. He can't believe Angela will stoop down to do what she did, well humans are capable of anything, untrusted set of creatures. He loves her, he seeks to forgive and move on with her, but all this sends him into an abyss of confusion and indecision. Should he forgive and make up with her or should he break up? Time will tell, it always does.


The situation at hand caused a strain, a massive strain in their relationship. Their relationship which reeked of love, affection, respect, honour was now a haven of distrust, hurt, anger, sadness, fear and uncertainty. Angela on her part has been pleading for his forgiveness at every chance she gets, using any medium she can. Their friends, the Oyedeles and surprisingly, his family, also got involved, thanks to Angela, the revealer. They urged him to make up with her, but it wasn't easy for him to, even though he desires to. Things were and are too complicated. He loves her, he still does, that's the reason he hasn't broken up with her yet, but even at that, forgiving her is a herculean task. He has to clear his mind, but for how long? As long as it takes.


Things aren't going well for Angela, who sank into a state of emotional instability and depression. She regrets ever stepping out of her house that very day. She regretted ever doing what she did even without the memory of it. She wonders if telling him wasn't a grave mistake as it seems, but keeping it to herself was hell, would she had been able to survive it? Richard now resents her, her presence disgust him. She has pleaded, pleaded for his forgiveness lots of times, any chance she gets and through any medium she can. She even involved family and friends, yet, he wasn't responding. He treats her casually whenever they meet or are in the midst of friends. Such treatment hurts her deeply. Why can't he forgive her? Why can't he for the sake of what they share forgive her? Why can't he give her what she desperately desires, his forgiveness? Why can't he put her off this misery? Guilt, anger, sadness, hurt and fear, fear of the unknown, fear of losing him, ate her up. Her love for him wasn't helping matters. She loves him so much, so so much, even beyond her very own comprehension, and this made things worse. It made the situation messy. All this plunged her into a state of despair, emotional instability and depression. Such state affected her health severely. She fell really sick. Her condition made family and friends worried.

"Richard, why are you heartless? Why have you chosen to be unforgiven? What happened to forgiveness been one of the cores of relationships? Fine, she cheated even though she did it unintentionally, but the bottom line is, she's remorseful and sorry, that's why she confessed to you. Remember, she would have decided to keep quiet and go on like nothing happened and you wouldn't have known, but no, she decided to let you know. Why would she do that? Simple, love, remorse, transparency and faithfulness. Why can't you forgive her? Your forgiveness, that's all she wants, give it to her", Ann said to Richard.

"Bro, I'm a man and I know how it feels in such situation. It hurts, but the thing is, she's so sorry for it. This girl loves you sooooo much. Please bro, forgive her", Francis said.

"Do you guys think I don't love her? Do you guys think I don't desire to forgive her? The thing is I do, I want to but it isn't easy", Richard said.

"It isn't easy or you choose not to make it easy. .........."

"It seems you don't know what's on ground, it seems you don't know what your sister did. Okay, let me tell you, she bleeped another guy. She bleeped another guy in her house, on her bed. Yea, that's what the cheat of your sister did", Richard's cut off Selina.

"You think it's easy to let go of that especially when you love the person involve? It's hurtful, betraying and disgusting. You're saying this because it's your sister, if it was the other way round, if I was the one that cheated, would you react the way you're reacting. Won't you and your family treat me terribly? Won't you and your family tell Angela to dumb my sorry cheating ass, won't you? Please right now, I can't even think straight, and this pressures aren't helping. Please, just let me, this victim be"

"Please, my sister is sorry. Forgive her. She's really in a terrible state. She's has fallen really sick. Please put her out of this misery. She loves you so much", Selina pleaded, her palms joined together.


Talking about illness, Angela's health detoriated every passing moment to the worry of friends and family including Richards, even Richard, but his so called confusion won't let him do what needs to be done to the annoyance of everyone, even to his parents and siblings.

"Richard, I never knew you were this heartless", that was Gloria.

Angela's ill health grew worse and reached it pinnacle causing her to go into a deep state of coma.

Yeah I know it will be hard to forgive especially if you sincerely love the person.

But state of coma? Richard just need to pray for a forgiving spirit because if he forgives her due to pressure without it coming from his heart it will later cause issues between them.
