Former Governor of Imo State and a current Senator, Rochas Okorocha, has declared his intention to run for president in 2023.

Okorocha made this known via his official Facebook page,

He wrote,
"Yesterday, in accordance with the right granted me in the 1999 as a citizen of Nigeria to vote and be voted for, i wrote a letter to the Senate declaring my intention to vie for the position of the President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023.

" Over the years, my passion has always been to create The New Nigeria we all desire. This passion has seen me serve in various government-level capacity to the applause of my people each time.

" I would be making an official declaration publicly by 11am on Monday the 31st of January, 2022.
Together we can make Nigeria great again.

" I look forward to interacting with you and ultimately to serving you.

"Together, we would rebuild our Blessed Nation.
