CCP76 is a dwarf cashew clone variety which will start flowering from between 6 to 18 months depending on the season in which it is planted and the soil and weather conditions. We brought CCP76 dwarf cashew seeds into Nigeria in January 2018 and planted in July in Osogbo Osun State, and Ogbomosho Oyo State, to test the viability of growing it in Nigeria. The pictures below have proven that you can plant dwarf cashew in Nigeria and get high yields in early harvest times. Target planting spacing is between 4 to 5 meters to give a maximum of 250 trees per acre. With proper maintenance, you can achieve 1 ton of raw cashew nuts per acre by the fourth year. Maximum height of CCP76 dwarf cashew tree at maturity is 3meters. This makes it convenient for harvesting and pruning in addition to having more trees per acre. |
