Kogi state is a state in the North central (middle belt) region of Nigeria.

The three main tribes are ;

Igala
Yoruba and
Ebira

Oftentimes people(largely) from southern Nigeria makes this mistake of lumping the whole Northern Nigeria geographical zone together, the annoying thing is these people usually separate Southern Nigeria ( SE, SS,SW)

North Central alone is bigger than the whole of Southern Nigeria.

Niger state is approximately is size of SW.

Kwara, plateau, Benue and Kogi are each bigger than SE.

The same trend continues in Kwara, Benue, nasarrawa, plateau and fct.

Kwara
the majority tribe in Kwara are the yoruba people constituting about 75% of the population, other tribes in Kwara are the Nupes, Bariga and significant fulani migrants.

Benue

Benue state is also a diverse state With groups rich in culture and agriculture.. groups like;
TIV
IDOMA
IGEDE and other small groups

You can divide the the middle belt into three with states like Adamawa, Niger forming upper middle belt who align with core north. Ethnic groups like Tiv in Benue,Angas in Plateau, Berom in plateau, Igala in kogi, Egon of Nassarwa belong to central or core middle belt. While the lower middle belt consists of ethnic groups that are culturally southerners such as Okun (southwest) and Idoma (southeast)
