Why we borrow.

We rely on oil money, and if the price of oil is not above a certain point we have to borrow.

That point is called the fiscal breakeven oil price . For Nigeria it is $133 per barrel right now (Varies for other countries)...down from £139 in 2017, and up from $122 in 2012.

Menahwile oil prices have been falling since 2014. As a result, we have had to take loans. And we will keep taking loans until we...

1.Raise our tax to gdp ratio...by taxing the 70% of Nigerians in the tax bracket who do not pay income tax.

2.Remove subsides on petrol and allow the market set the price of PMS.

Nigerians , however, don't want to do that. In our mind, we should be 'rich'. We are not rich, and we need other sources of money.

The funny thing is that the APC government shares the same mindset as Nigerians, which is why they don't want to take those hard decsions too.

At the end, we rely too much on oil, and the government has to take the decisions needed to raise more money. And that means removing subsides and rasing tax revenue.

Africa needs to improve on this their foreign policy on money lending, if you borrowed money externally on the currency that is not yours, then you will have to sniff out your nose to pay back the money including the interests. This is the greatest advantage that America and European countries are benefitting from the current international political economy in the world of today. These countries have access to cheap loans because they are the minters of the currency in which the loans will be procured. They don't have to worry about skyrocketing interest rates because foreign and domestic creditors troop in to buy American and European bonds due to their safe haven nature. You cannot buy an American government's bonds in other currency other than USD, same with Euro bonds i.e. Euro. So if anything happens in future that the US or European governments cannot pay back their bond holders, they can easily print more currency through their central banks to settle their creditors, this is possible because they have made sure that all of their issued out bonds are domiciled in USD and Euro respectively. This single advantage is the reason while a USA or European firm will never lack funding in the current international financial system, because they are the money itself.

The whole world can see the jokers that these people are. These bunches of old politicians in the country are just a curse to humanity. And these people are still prepping Tinubu to take over from Buhari Where is your AK-47 Nigerian youths?
