Military coup is on the rise again in the continent, especially in West Africa as Guinea Bissau on verge of becoming fourth (4th) country in just 2yrs. For the past two years, the West African subregion has witnessed successive coups d’état, prompting criticisms from all and sundry, including AU and ECOWAS sanctions for the erring countries.http://uptownerd.com/2022/02/01/just-in-buhari-jittery-as-another-military-coup-underway-in-guinea-bissau/

Even Nigeria need this most, but our military authority are just advance politicians with gun. They have the worst attribute of bad politicians in this country, together with gun. If our military is one very discipline & upright institution, they can safe the country by taking power from these politicians, even probably kill most of them, and rule for one year to reorganize the country, then return to democracy with new set of people of Conscience. But our military can't try that, because the difference between them and Nigeria politicians is gun |

Did Buhari tell you he was jittery or does the Nigerian military have the same flawed orientation as that of Guinea Bissau ? You bloggers will put yourselves in trouble telling lies just to get clicks on your pages |

He became a military head of state through a coup. His ass should expect the same thing especially with what's going on in West Africa at the moment |

Not possible in Nigeria! If the lead coupist is Igbo: He just sanctioned genocide on Igbo people, which might lead to another civil war; and the untimely death of the coupists is almost assured. The lead coupist from the North would shatter the country like a Tomato thrown against a wall, after a brutal civil war. A Yoruba lead coupist would give other Nigerians the moral justification to exterminate all Yoruba people in West Africa, which might lead to another civil war; and the untimely death of the coupists is almost assured. The strength of Nigeria's democracy is her diversity, and one has to commend the British for this. |

xcel20001:When the capital was in Lagos, and Nigerians were less angry at Nigeria. Now, with the present atmosphere in the country, a Northern (core North) coup would lead to a civil war, certainly! Let's not forget the ease with which to purchase weapons, in this present time (cryptocurrency + the Internet). |

mastertek:I'm sorry, but this is one of the most amusingly idealistic comments I have seen on this site. Sadly your idea is dead on arrival Who makes up the army? Nigerians Who makes up the civilians? Nigerians All you said was said in 1966 and 1983 and at the end of the day, the difference between men and pigs became zero ( apologies to George Orwell) Plus, you must be a little child who has grown up under democracy to be spouting such trust in our army. I grew up under army rule and it was harsh, effed up and horrible. Remember Endsars? In 1986 under mullitary rule, students went on protest across the nation. University students. You know what your beloved army rulers did to those students? Do you want to hear what they did to students in 1978 an many other years? Do you want to know how many people went to jail without trial for years because they spoke out against the goverment. Do you want to know about the newspaper closures for months, rule by decree, etc etc Do you and the people who liked your comment want to know about the horror show that was army rule, and how it laid the foundation for many of the problems we still deal with? Do you know how one jokert set in motion in 1966 the deaths of millions for no good reason other than idealism? You don't want army rule. So either leave this site and join the political process and get us some change or shut up. Millitary rule is not something you would like. Believe me, and I say this as someone who is angry with our civilian rulers that I have written off APC and PDP as useless, but even then I will not exchange this for army rule. We will not go back there again. Nigeria is not going back to army rule..never ever ever again. |

PaNnamdi:don't mind him,he believes coup is just child's play. If a top ranking fulani topples a government, he will first establish ruga n nobody dare say anything He will conveniently empower his region at d expense of others n nobody dare say anything. At least they can blame uzodinma anyhow n criticise him,if u try that with military government na dele giwa part 2 |

Buhari maybe the first and only Nigerian president to be removed through coup twice as a millitary and as civilian president. I do not pray for millitary coup in Nigeria, but I just hope it doesn't happen cos any coup in Nigeria now will be very successful and will gain masses patronage. Buhari should tighten and equip his presidential guard brigade and also be headed by the person he trust the most |

mastertek:study history...na only Obasanjo/abubakar get sense and they entered power without a coup. How many coup plotters you know handed over to a civilian, maybe they handed over to themselves as civilians ...that was how liberians were happy about Samuel doe's coup that got President William Tolbert killed...that coup was the beginning of Liberia's trouble |
