Nissan is not a specialist vehicle. Any certified engineer who knows what he/she is doing can find his way around the nissan. Its a Japanese model.
As for your 2008 altima, you wld need a good brand of 5w30 engine oil, with a good oil filter. If your transmission oil is dirty, you'll need the nissan NS2 transmission fluid(i hear its scarce) or you can look for the original Aisin CFex below. Take note.. "Using any other fluids apart from nissan ns2 or its equivalent would damage the transmission" and dats not a joke. I have one guy around idimu area i can recommend to you. Send a msg. bought my nissan pathfinder 05 since 2011,the best car i have ever used,i also own 2012 highlander,but still prefer my pathfinder anytime anyday,very reliable especially on the highways,during my building project,carried not less than 70 bags of cement with my pathy,still serving till today,i would rather sell my 2007 camry than my pathfinder.

How possible is it that the automatic transmission in a small size sedan with at most 2.0l engine can work properly in a crossover with 4wd and a 3.5l v6 engine? Speed, displacement, torque and d rest have to be considered na. Its not rocket science. Haba, 1 horse can never successfully pull a cart meant to be pulled by 5 horses. It will definitely collapse before taking off.
Your 12yrs old murano was bought tokunbo i guess, and when it got to Nigeria, it was driving like a brand new car right? So think about it. The average new car gets 3 years warranty or 100,000km whichever comes 1st.so your Murano did more than
9 years before getting to you. This shld tell you proper maintenance is key.

It utterly saddens me to hear how people suffers using Nissan cars. First you need to understand is that Nissan is more electronically sophisticated than Toyota, whatsoever innovation Toyota has today, Nissan has used on their cars more than a decade ago. Nissan cars requires a highly skilled tech to fix an issue on not just any random mechanic and when it comes to engine performance, Toyota or Honda has no match with Nissan engines especially the legendry VQ35 Series.
Is Murano problematic? No. It was half baked mechanics putting ATF into CVT and killed the transmission in a very short while.

please don't do..I am currently using nissan altima. bro, the body is strong but the engine and all this dash board, taping glasses is given me a headache .and a lot of people are making the same complain

My mother inlaw gave it to me so i shipped it to naigeria, it was running fine until it started developing fault, not even engine problems the engine is working fine. It's just this bloody gearbox problems or is it transmission?

As a car dealer. You wont go wrong with a manual TRANSMISSION,
But Automatic.
PATHFINDER, Rogue and kick... is a good buy ( note resale value in naija is bad).
Avoid.
Murano, Quest and Qashqai..in that order. ( else na owode scrap dealers go buy am laslas).

Personally, i have not used the nissan quest. Depending on the year, most cars share same engine and transmission. Just different exterior looks and d rest. Read more about any car you intend to buy or use. Wikipedia would give u a simple breakdown of cars sharing same engine, gear and chassis with the nissan quest of whichever year you want.

Abeg don't take your car to a mechanic that will mess with your engine. You can get a vetted engineer from Flickwheel. They even offer loans to fix your car if it's got major issues and you pay in installments.

First generation Rogue was for model years 2007 to 2013. All CVT problems were sorted out from the 2013 model.

Modified: All first gen Rogues came with RE0F10A while 2013 and above come with the more reliable RE0F10D.
