Even Mourinho who already had Lampard lusted after him. Only God knows what would have happened if he had joined Chelsea then.

Simple as abc....gerrard was partnered by Hamann,biscan,smicer in 2005 champions league final against star studded AC MILAN and he still shone.... played all his years with below average players

I think this is ultimately what tilts the argument in Steven G's favour. And I think I do agree that he was more of an all rounder than Lampard, though Super Frankie was an offensive genius. Funny, it's basically how I see the Trent/James debate

But we can't ignore the titles and regardless of the number of stars he played with, Lampard was one of the main man - the main man in the eyes of many. So Lamps is greater in my books.

The Gerard/Lampard debate is neither here nor there...both players were brilliant and would walk into any midfield today... Liverpool fans would choose Stevie while Chelsea fans would obviously choose Frank...the better question would be why England failed to utilize their patnership to win any international trophy which is one of the main reason why Xavi/iniesta are slightly rated above them

LOL. You must be joking. Hakimi was only behind Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez in helping Inter win the Serie A last season, their first in the last 10 years. He was unarguably the best RB/RWB in the whole of Europe last season.

E say James played a huge role in.Chelsea winning the CL last season. LOL. I fit mention at least 6 players that contributed more to Chelsea's CL success than James.
