Good morning nairalanders, please I need a quick response to this and your opinions; I rented a single room apartment on the 19th of February 2020 and if we are to count the months, my stay supposed to expire on the 19th of February (if am correct). My landlord came before the due date and said my rent expired end of January, we dragged that but due to me saying i will renew then, we ended that. Now this is 2022, she came yesterday to tell me I have this week to pack. Am I getting it wrong telling her my house rent expires on the 19th of Feb 2022 (which makes it 12months) or is that how it is counted( January ending which is 11months)? Location: Abeokuta

@Mod, please help me push this to front page

1. you're current tenancy runs for the period of February19th and ended18th of February
2. Is there any written form of agreement between you and your Land lady
3. Do you have envidence of rent payment from her. Eg receipt
If you have this things, present it to her and explain to her.. if she's not educated, look for someone either any of children or relatives that can explain to her in her own way of understanding... She doesn't have the right to give you one week quite notice...

Thanks for comment. I have no form of agreement between us but have my receipt with me. She won't hear cos I told her and tried explaining yesterday to her when she came, the child that lives here that supposed to explain to her is not listening to whereas he is claiming he is educated which am sure he is not. The problem is that he is a troublesome one that likes to just cause wahala and he is ready to just send me packing
