N450m rice factory commences operation in Imo 31st January 2022 Tension in Imo as soldiers allegedly kill 2 vigilantes 0 SHARES From George Onyejiuwa, Owerri Diva Rice, the first rice mill factory built at the cost of N450 million, has commenced production of polished rice in Imo State. The factory located at Umuabiahu community, Mgbidi in Oru West council of the state, currently produces 300 bags of 50kg rice per day. Managing Director/Chief Executive officer of Diva Trading World Services, Ifeyinwa Nnanna-Mbah, disclosed this during a press conference at the weekend. Mbah, an indigene of Oru West, said she decided to invest in the mill because of the high demand of rice in the state and to create employment opportunities for youths. “Initially, I used to produce my rice in the Middle Belt but on a second thought, I decided to set a factory in Imo State since there is no rice mill there. Today, this is the result of that decision that I took early last year. This factory cost over N450 million to establish because all the machineries were imported from China and we are still spending because we operate on diesel for 24 hours as we don’t have stable electricity power supply,” she said. Mbah called on the state government to assist in the provision of accessible road and electricity supply to reduce the company’s production cost. sanctity454:Where does IMSG have a flood-prevetion facility outside Owerri? The 2nd largest urban settlement - Orlu - in Imo state, is yearly devastated by floods - floods that last year claimed the life of a young boy. Even a former governor of old Imo state from far away Bende in present Abia state, gave out job for urban drainage gutters in Orlu, but the job stopped after the governor left office when Evans Enwerem became governor. It's shame, shame and shame, to the new political leaders of Imo state, with their propagandists who have now reduced Imo state to become only Owerri. |

sanctity454:Wow! Thanks Wunne. This is awesome and serious development. Orlu people should start developing their Pharmaceutical industries like this one and stop importing, selling Indian medical products. Go to Ogbogu bridge head Osha they full there.. the future of Imo dominating to become pharmaceutical, Industrial and tourism Hub is visible and viable. |

sanctity454:God bless the owner of this pharmaceutical company. He is a wise man and loves his people. Notice how he built his factory in his homeland and opened his office in Lagos. However, other efulefus will open factory and head office outside our state/region while citing economic factors. When there is riot or any crises, those people they build in their lands will be the ones to attack and loot their investments but no one would ever do such to his investments here. |

May God help Imo State to recover all her territories and oil wells. Amen
|
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Permesso: 11:24am On Feb 06, 2022 |
RareDiamond:That means 10 oil wells has been secured already remaining 17 with will be concluded tomorrow, i see Imo state winning the case. This is why i urge our people to rarely close to centre to get our national share. With the close relationship between Hope and Buhari, it will go well for us. Wike is using our oil money to fight the federal too. It need to be reduced |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by biafraisdead(m): 12:10pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
Permesso:Not really. 27 oil wells have been recovered already and another 17 is about to be recovered subject to the supreme Court judgment. The total number of wells is 44. |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Permesso: 2:02pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
biafraisdead:Hmm! There are many more we needed to discover and recover too from Rivers. This strategy to deprive imo state and igboland in general of development then should be corrected now. This left us with noting to develop and buid J.B Setraco and R.C.C standard type of roads, infrastructures because we lack finance. 44 oil well still small for me, rivers still has stolen thousands of oil wells. |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by huncho22(m): 2:44pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
Permesso:. Even with 200 oil wells with governor like hope uzodinma he's still going to do sub standard roads why much does ebonyj state have yet they are building and constructing quality roads |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by biafraisdead(m): 4:45pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
huncho22:That is not true. U guys should learn to speak positive of people, at least when the person is trying and criticise them constructively when they are not. One thing I have learnt about many Imolites is that they like talking rubbish of their governors thinking it makes them more civilised. U will notice that some people will never speak unreasonably bad of their governors (especially on a public forum) thereby making it look like their leaders are performing extremely well. I wonder if there is an award for always been bittered about ur governor. Let us learn to support the governor, instead of always wanting to talk negative of him all the time. Whether we like it or not Hope is presently the governor of Imo ( supreme court or no supreme court), the least any right thinking person should do is to support him because if the state is destroyed today, I doubt if Hope or his family will be affected, but sure many poor ones will. We should not allow politicians to use us as tools to fight their opponents. |
